The phasing can be shown as follows: • Proactive: Define - Identify - Design - Optimise - Verify (DIDOV) • Reactive: Define - Measure - Analyse - Improve - Control (DMAIC) The activities to be carried out in each phase are discussed, introducing the useful statistical and other ‘tools’ for the relevant phase. Statistics are important to take decisions based on data. For this reason, there will be extensive practice with the Minitab statistical software. To guarantee good quality for the new product, the following topics will also be considered: FMEA, Robust Design and Tolerancing, Reliability, Lean. The focus is on the practical applicability. Presentations will alternate with exercising the statistical techniques. A ‘Statapult’ game will also be used to put the learned theory into practice. Training objective and result This Green Belt training course deals explicitly with the Design

for Six Sigma method. So you will be trained to be a DfSS Green

Belt and you will then be able to carry out operations in a project

in accordance with the DfSS methodology. As a Green Belt you

will be responsible for the statistical justification with which the

correct decisions can be taken in your organisation. You can

perform development and improvement projects independently

and can support the DfSS Black Belt effectively in complex

projects. The focus on client demand and the proactive way of

collecting data lead to better products and an improvement in

the corporate results.

To enhance the effectiveness of the learning process for the Six

Sigma methodology and the associated tools, you will perform

your first project in tandem with the course’s progression. You

will also receive support in projects in the form of free

participation in the Six Sigma User Group (4x a year) for one year.

With the actual contribution to the corporate results of your

DfSS project, the investment in this course will be justified.

A selection of the skills which will be learned:In addition to the pro-active Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) DIDOV

methodology, the reactive DMAIC methodology will also be

covered in the course.

The phasing can be shown as follows:

• Proactive: Define - Identify - Design - Optimise - Verify (DIDOV)

• Reactive: Define - Measure - Analyse - Improve - Control (DMAIC)

The activities to be carried out in each phase are discussed,

introducing the useful statistical and other ‘tools’

for the relevant phase. Statistics are important to take

decisions based on data. For this reason, there will be extensive

practice with the Minitab statistical software. To guarantee

good quality for the new product, the following topics will also

be considered: FMEA, Robust Design and Tolerancing,

Reliability, Lean. The focus is on the practical applicability.

Presentations will alternate with exercising the statistical

techniques. A ‘Statapult’ game will also be used to put the

learned theory into practice.

New products and processes need to be developed within an increasingly shorter time, first time right and with the right quality. The structured Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) DIDOV methodology delivers the tools for this which will assist you effectively.
