Precise, Verifi able Isotope Ratio MeasurementsThermo Scientifi c™ Delta Ray™ analyzer with URI Connect universal reference interface is a high performance, mid-infrared laser based, isotope ratio infrared spectrometer. It offers simultaneous determination of δ13C and δ18O in CO
2 with a precision of
<0.05‰ between ambient concentrations and up to 100% with automatic dilution.
The URI Connect universal reference interface enables the analysis of discrete samples from vials in an autosampler, or, through an injection port, the analysis of samples from syringes or bags. If desired, the port can be customized by the user to fi t specifi c sample containers. The sample gas is collected in a variable volume, from which the system can automatically determine the concentration and then adjust the dilution to perform isotopic analysis under optimized conditions. Moreover, the URI interface provides fully automated referencing and calibration for verifi able measurements and long term confi dence. Smart referencing adjusts the reference gas concentration to the sample to achieve superior performance.
Isotope Ratios from Discrete Samples To-GoThe modular design, low weight and built in referencing make the Delta Ray the analyzer of choice for demanding fi eld and laboratory applications of discrete samples such as isotopic composition of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), carbonate analysis or microbiology and labeling applications all in combination with an optional autosampler. The autosampler is small enough to be easily deployed to the fi eld. The Delta Ray analyzer can also be used for continuous greenhouse gas monitoring, or in ecology, plant science, carbon sequestration and storage research, or for volcanic monitoring. Feature rich data is acquired autonomously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a time resolution as low as 1 s directly where the sample originates. A quickstart guide gets you going in minimum time.
The Thermo Scientifi c Delta Ray CO2 isotope ratio infrared spectrometer with URI Connect allows you to easily interface with samples available in amounts as little as 80 µg of CO2, such as in vials, syringes or bags and then to be analyzed in the Delta Ray spectrometer. Discover more with a mobile isotope laboratory:
• δ13C and δ18O of CO2
• CO2 concentration
• Precision < 0.05‰
• Mid-infrared laser based isotope ratio infrared spectrometer
• Up to 1 Hz data
• Portable, fi eld deployable
• URI Connect to interface discrete samples
• Easy connection to samples in autosampler, syringes or bags
• Global support

2 Real-Time ResultsPowered by the Thermo Scientific™ Qtegra™ Intelligent Scientific Data Solution (ISDS™), the data acquisition is driven by powerful workflows. Select sample ports, choose vial positions in a tray, drive external valves, or synchronize your measurements with external triggers all with a few clicks. Qtegra software then acquires the data into labbooks without user interaction. The sample will be diluted automatically to within the guaranteed specification range (380–1500 ppm). The fully referenced and calibrated results can be inspected immediately and are easily exported to Excel or your favorite data analysis package. Qtegra runs on the Windows 7 computer, which in connection with an internet connection allows you to control your Delta Ray system from anywhere in the world.
Simple, Robust, Powerful Mid-Infrared TechnolgyAt the core of the analyzer is a difference frequency generation (DFG) laser that operates in the mid-infrared, where the absorption of CO
2 and its isotopologues are
so strong, that 5 m path length are sufficient to achieve a precision as low as 0.05‰. It is simple, robust and powerful.
Sample gas is dried in the reference interface to prevent any interaction of water and CO
2 (isotope exchange) with the
added benefit of providing dry mole fraction concentration data. In the measurement cell, where the laser analyses the gas, pressure and temperature are precisely controlled.
