Perkin-Elmer now announces the Model DSC-2, a Differential Scanning Calorimeter so technical ly advanced that it establishes a totally new standard of performance in quantitative thermal analysis. It's based on the same patented operat ing pr inciples* as our innovative Model DSC-1B but redesigned in every way to satisfy the needs of t h e m o s t d e m a n d i n g t h e r m a l analyst. The Model DSC-2 provides the ult imate in data quality and includes at least "order-of-magni-t u d e " i m p r o v e m e n t s in e v e r y important operating parameter and feature. • W i d e s t T e m p e r a t u r e R a n g e avai lab le in quant i ta t ive thermal analysis, 100°Kto 1000°K ( - 1 7 5 ° C to 725°C) with automated digital programmer including temperature limits precisely settable at 0.1° intervals. • Higher Baseline Quality. Essentially straight and repeatable baselines under all practical operating
condit ions. Difficult specif ic heat measurements now routine over the whole temperature range. • Unprecedented Sensitivity. To 0.1 mi l l ica l /sec full scale (0.01 m i l l i c a l / s e c / i n c h ) p r o v i d i n g g r e a t e r r a n g e o f s e l e c t i o n o f sample size, scann ing rate and sensitivity for maximum resolution with noise-free baselines. • Practically Instantaneous Temperature Response for rapid scanning and isothermal equi l ibr ium. Already an exclusive capabil i ty of Perkin-Elmer systems but further enhanced with a novel automatic circui t that cancels program t ransients and thermal lags. • Precisely Linear Temperature Calibrations, for example, maximum deviation from perfect linearity from 50°C to 725°C is less than 1.0°C simplifying precise temperature determination and insuring the accuracy and constancy of scanning rates over wide ranges.
Many other features and speci
f icat ions reflect the care, thought and uncompromising engineering that have gone into the Model D S C - 2 . T h e s e , t o g e t h e r w i t h P e r k i n - E l m e r ' s pa ten ted d i r ec t calorimetr ic readout system, make the Model DSC-2 the only choice for the thermal analyst who needs the best there is.
