1. Unique Opportunity for Communications Professional

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA) is a successful, dynamic, well-resourced professional body, which strives to offer the best possible service to its 3,800 members.

Among these services is the timely, succinct provision of relevant professional information to members. We are seeking to employ a Member Communications Executive who will play a key role in developing and delivering communications on a wide variety of Accountancy related topics to the Institute’s membership base to ensure that members have access to the highest quality information possible.

This is a challenging position with significant opportunities for development for the successful candidate. It is a role that will particularly appeal to professionals who enjoy researching various topics and sources, and communicating with accountants through a variety of means – 1-1 discussions/ ebulletins/ website/ presentations/workshops/social media etc.

The remuneration package is attractive and includes attractive salary & benefits and support to continuing professional training and development.

Key Elements of the Role are:

To research, interpret and disseminate information of relevance to Members To produce Institute publications – hard and soft copy To analyse the membership base and segment for information and feedback purposes To develop service level feedback mechanisms from membership base segments To research and develop new member service offerings To research and develop new collaborative opportunities To lead the development of advertising for publications To manage the Member Services area of website To source non-technical material/speakers/content for CPE events To develop new channels of communication with membership base with particular

emphasis on social media To Identify and exploit sponsorship opportunities To manage ad-hoc projects

The Person will:

Be a qualified accountant, or a degree holder, ideally in Finance, Accounting or Business Demonstrate an ability to research and exploit new and innovative channels of

communication Have an interest in and ability to carry out research Have commercial astuteness Have fluent written and oral English, both business and everyday Have a current clean driving licence Enjoy establishing commercial relationships with 3rd parties Be a good networker Have a good understanding of the accounting and related professions.

Skills Required :

Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven communication skills – written and oral

Experience in producing newsletters, publications etc Have very good IT skills, with particular emphasis on use of IT in communications

Ability to work on multiple tasks to tight deadlines. Ability to work effectively within a team.

4. Αναθεώ ρηση καταστατικού/Revision of the Articles of Association

Αγαπητά μέλη,

Ένα από τα αιτήματα της Γενικής Συνέλευσης που εξέλεξε το παρόν Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο ήταν η αναθεώρηση του καταστατικού. Με ιδιαίτερη ικανοποίηση σας ανακοινώνουμε ότι είμαστε πλέον έτοιμοι να ξεκινήσουμε τη διαδικασία.

(Θα παρατηρήσετε καταρχήν ότι τα καταστατικά αυτά δεν είναι τα ίδια: φέρουν τις υπογραφές διαφορετικών ΔΣ και έχουν μια μεγάλη χρονική απόσταση μεταξύ τους. Αυτό όμως δεν θα μας απασχολήσει αυτή τη στιγμή, αυτό άλλωστε είναι και ένα από τα ζητήματα που θέλουμε να διορθώσουμε.)

Σε πρώτη φάση, καλούμε τα μέλη να υποβάλουν με email τις προτάσεις τους για αλλαγές στο ακόλουθο email, μέχρι και τις 30/09/2012:association @ helleniccommunity . ie

Από εκεί και πέρα, η πρώτη εκδοχή του νέου καταστατικού θα είναι έτοιμη και θα σταλεί στα μέλη μέχρι τις 30/11/2012. Θα ακολουθήσει ένας δεύτερος γύρος προτάσεων και η τελική εκδοχή του νέου καταστατικού θα τεθεί προς έγκριση από τα μέλη σε Έκτακτη Γενική Συνέλευση στις αρχές του 2013.

Τις προτάσεις σας μπορείτε να τις βασίζετε είτε στο ελληνικό είτε στο αγγλικό κείμενο και να τις στέλνετε είτε στα ελληνικά είτε στα αγγλικά. Θα σας παρακαλέσουμε να είστε όσο σαφέστεροι γίνεται. Για παράδειγμα, μπορείτε να ξεκινήσετε αναφέροντας αν θέλετε να αφαιρέσετε, να προσθέσετε, ή να τροποποιήσετε κάτι και στη συνέχεια να αναφέρετε το σχετικό εδάφιο του παρόντος καταστατικού όπου αναφέρεται η παρατήρησή σας (όπου αυτό απαιτείται). Υπενθυμίζουμε ότι, αν και θα δεχθούμε προτάσεις από όλους τους ενδιαφερομένους, μόνο τακτικά μέλη που έχουν τακτοποιήσει τη συνδρομή τους θα μπορούν να συμμετάσουν και να έχουν δικαίωμα ψήφου στη Γενική Συνέλευση.

Η υποεπιτροπή του ΔΣ αρμόδια για την αλλαγή καταστατικού απαρτίζεται από τους:-Κωνσταντίνο Δρακάκη-Θωμαή Κακούλη-Γιάννη Δουμένη-Θοδωρή Νικολακόπουλο.Η υποεπιτροπή διατηρεί το δικαίωμα να ζητήσει τη συνδρομή τρίτων εάν το κρίνει σκόπιμο (π.χ. κάποιου δικηγόρου για νομικούς όρους κλπ.)

Dear Members,

One of demands of the General Assembly which elected the current Board was the revision of the Articles of Association. We are now pleased to announce that we are ready to start the process.

(You may notice that the two versions are signed by different Boards and at different times. This, however, will not concern us now, as it is one of the issues we want to address.)

As a first step, we call upon the members to submit their proposals by email until 30/09/2012 here:association@helleniccommunity.ie

The first draft of the new Articles of Association will be circulated to the members by 30/11/2012. A second round of suggestions will follow and the final draft will be submitted for approval to an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly called sometime in the early 2013.

You may submit your proposals in English or in Greek and base them on either the Greek or the English text. Please be as specific as you can. For example, you may start by mentioning whether you wish to remove, add, or modify something and then mention the related paragraph of the current text, when applicable. We remind you that, although we will accept proposals from all interested parties, only regular members who have fulfilled their financial obligations are eligible to participate and vote in the General Assembly.
