CPC has been extended an offer to participate in Student Government’s De-Segregate EMU three-day event. This event aims to bridge divides in EMU Organizations, and also provide education and networking. Here are the individual events within the week:

o April 3rd  Diversity Training by Dar Mayweather SC Room 352 6-9pmo April 4th Panel 7-9pm McKenny Guild Hall room 300o April 5th Speed Friending Event 6-9pm McKenny Ballroom

Elections April 2017o Election Date: April 6th, SC room 301 7:00pmo Applicants will have 5 minutes on the floor due to the number of positions being elected. o Slating will be taking place Thursday, March 23rd at 7:00-8:30pm in SC Room 204.

All CPC officers and delegates of chapters are required to be there UNLESS they are running for a position.

o Letters of Intent to run are due to Morgan by March 21st at 11:59pm. o All election materials, and any questions other than logistical questions must be sent

to Morgan Ziegelhofer, not myself. ([email protected])o Slating is anonymous. Letters will be read omitting name and chapter. Slating is to

remain confidential until all applicants have been notified of the decision. o Applicants will receive an email from Morgan after Slating regardless of decision

Vice President of Education: Thank you to everyone who came to the Intersectional Feminism Event!  I appreciate all the

support and conversations!  I will be leaving details of the event for the next VP of Ed, and would love any feedback to include ([email protected]/734-855-5198).  The conversations shouldn’t stop just because the event is over.  Check out the Women’s Resource Center for events at which you can learn more!

Photovoice, due to a lack of submissions, is being rescheduled until the fall semester to placed in conjunction with Anti-Hazing week.  The theme will still be Identity.  Anyone interested in running for my position is more than welcome to help create the marketing materials/plan.

Still doing research for Gamma Sigma Alpha, the Honors Fraternity; however, I would like to begin the process of educating chapters on what it is, so once we have the application process set, members can apply the day it opens.  I will be emailing presidents about meeting visits to talk about Gamma Sigma Alpha.

There is a Scholarship Chair meeting on March 21, that’s Tuesday, at 7:30.  We will be discussing a professor appreciation event or activity.  Chapters without representation will receive a Panhellenic absence.

Each department has scholarships, and the deadlines should be approaching soon.  Please check your department's’ website for more information.

Did you study abroad this semester?  Have a project that you’re extremely proud of?  Tell me about those experiences!  I want to create a summary of the Greek academic life here at EMU that can be shared on social media.  Send me pics, synopsis, etc.  I may just create a blog post--whatever medium will let us showcase the academic excellence we strive for on CPC.

It is almost Greek Week!!! I hope everyone is excited. Next week starts study tables at the library! They are 10am-5pm. Check in with a council member on the second floor to receive your hours!

Our service event this year will be cleaning up our wonderful town of Ypsilanti. This is March 25th from 9am-11am. Meet at the student center by 8:50am to be disbursed.

Variety show judges: Casey, Lucas, and Geoff Variety show: special guest from EMU Greek Life to talk about her story. The first event is Sunday, March 26th at 2pm at the REC I/M. Brackets will remained

Member at Large: IFC changed bylaws for social and academic policy.

Unfinished Business: Voting on Social Policy Reforms Article III Section 1 subsection

o add B. Each organization must host a fastforward program pertaining to Eastern Michigan social policy and  FIPG guidelines every year, with a minimum of 80% of active members in attendance. This must be completed within the first semester of each scholastic year.

o MOTION PASSES. Article III Section 2.

o Add Party requests must be submitted to the Inter-Fraternity Council President and Executive Vice President, College Panhellenic Council President and Executive Vice President, and Greek Life Advisor at least 72 hours before the start of the requested party. Requests must include a list of sober monitors, with the amount being the maximum possible. If the form is turned into a council member in person five (5) days before the event then the council member will respond before the 72-hour deadline.  If they do not, then actions may be taken against the council member.  The event may not be held without approval. At least 24 hours before the party, the chapter must send the Inter-Fraternity Council President and Executive Vice President, College Panhellenic Council President and Executive Vice President and Greek Life Advisor a guest list and sober monitor list.

Proposed amendment to Article III  Section 4: Each sober monitor must wear an indicator, such as a lanyard, provided by the respective counsel at registered social events.

Q. No fraternity member shall suggest to any PNM that she refuse a bid from one group in order to wait for a bid from another group.

1. If a CPC member is approached by a PNM about bid refusal or MRABA completion at any time, they should recommend that the PNM talks to a CPC Executive Council Officer, Gamma Rho Chi, the Greek Life Advisor or the Greek Life Graduate Assistant.

C. When a report of an infraction has been received by the College Panhellenic, the accused chapter will be notified within 72 hours and the current CPC Vice President of Membership will discuss with the chapters Vice President of Membership the time frame of when the penalty will be given.D. The College Panhellenic shall strive to achieve a fair and reasonable resolution for infractions.E. Penalties will be assessed to fit the nature and degree of the offense.

1. Penalty results may vary. Penalties may include, but are not limited to educational programming, meeting with an advisor/executive board member, and/or social probation.F. According to The Manual of Information recruitment rights may not be revoked or reduced as the result of recruitment infraction.

A.Proper Reporting AuthorityA. Any violation of recruitment rules will result in a recruitment infraction.B. Recruitment infractions will be investigated by the Vice President of Membership,

Greek advisor, and Council Members.B. Receipt of Infraction

1.The following steps should be taken to make certain an infraction is properly received by the College Panhellenic:

A.The College Panhellenic Violation Report is retained by the College Panhellenic President or Greek Life advisor and is available upon request by the accused sorority.B.The College Panhellenic President or Greek Life advisor shall send a copy of the College Panhellenic Violation Report to the NPC area advisor within seven days.

C. Notification of Chapter1. The College Panhellenic President shall notify the accused sorority in writing by

delivering the College Panhellenic Infraction Notice to that chapter president within seven days of receiving the College Panhellenic Violation Report.

A. If the president of the accused sorority is unavailable, delivery may be made to another appropriate chapter sorority officer or advisor. The record of delivery shall be documented on the report.

2. A copy of the College Panhellenic Infraction Notice shall be given to the Greek Life Advisor and sent to the NPC area advisor within the same time period.

D. Response to Receipt of Infraction1. Upon receipt of the College Panhellenic Infraction Notice, the accused sorority shall

contact the College Panhellenic President within seven days to schedule mediation.2. Mediation shall be held unless the accused sorority chooses to proceed directly to a

judicial hearing.A.If the College Panhellenic Infraction Notice is delivered during a college/university break, the mediation/judicial hearing may be scheduled after classes resume or held during the break if all parties are available.B. If a judicial hearing is requested, no members of IFC may be involved in any way.
