Failure in a refractory system can occur from a single overload and generally results in local cracking or separaon from the steel wall in the vicinity of the refractory anchors and local overheang of the pipe or vessel. FE/Pipe v5.0 analyzes the external and thermal stresses in the re- fractory and predicts whether the refractory system will tend to fail in either tension or compression, as well as the extent of failure. FEA for 2007 ASME VIII Div 2 Part 5 Elasc-Plasc, Large Strain Rules PlasTEX v1.1 provides elasc-plasc, large displacement, large rota- on, and large strain capability for 2D FE/Pipe v5.0 and Nozzle/PRO v7.5 models. This capability is intended to address the requirements in the 2007 ASME Secon VIII Div.2 Part 5 new rules including the crical evaluaon of Local Overstrain in accor- dance with 5.3.3.1. Release of Low Cost FE Product Series To reduce cost to the user and improve the availability of analysis tools, PRG has introduced a series of FEA products that are available on an annual lease basis. These products address basic design concerns for pressure vessel and piping engineers and include the generaon of accurate SIFs, Flexibilies and Allowable Loads for nozzles, branch connecons, bends and rectangular air coolers per API 661.
