Dear Αll, The 1st Mediterranean Congress of Human Sexuality and Reproduction (MCSR 1, Cyprus October 2012) was a state of the art congress where the latest de-velopments οn sexual medicine and uro-genital reconstructive surgery were pre-sented. Building on the success of MCSR 1 and its satellite symposium, which debated the link between the conflicts of sexes and the conflicts of nations, we are proudly announcing the 2nd Mediterranean Congress of Human Sexual-ity and Reproduction (MCSR 2, Athens 3-4 April 2015, MEGARON): From Asexual Reproduction to Human Sexuality. MCSR 2 will be based in a similar format as the preνiοus congress, where the very nature of human sexuality will be explored not only from the lense of sexual medicine but also οn the basis of fundamental science, art, philosophy and religion.

Preface According to some versions of ancient Greek mythology, as described by Aristophanes, in the Symposium of Plato, men were initially like round balls, with two faces, two sets of genitals, four legs and arms. Also, they were three sexes; men, women and the union of the two the ‘’Androgynous’’. These creatures were powerful and enjoying life tο the full; to such an extent that gods deemed them dangerous. Ιn order to punish them, the gods decided to cut them in half. Ever since that time, people run around saying they are looking for their other half because they are really trying to recover their primal nature. The women who were separated from women run after their own kind, thus creating Iesbians. The men split from other men also run after their own kind and love being embraced by other men. Those that come from original androgynous beings are the men and women that engage in mutual love. Aristophanes then claims that when two people who were separated from each other find each other, they never again want to be separated-this feeling is like a riddle, and cannot be explained. This

MCSR 2 aims to explore the existence and the nature of the laws driving human sexuality and their implications for sexual medicine; from the laws of physics and cellular asexual reproduction, to the boundless sexual fantasies as those expressed and deformed by science, art and religion. The congress will be organised in sessions that will explore a number of fundamental topics. The participants wiΙΙ include scientists, medical doctors, artists, philosophers and theologians so at engage in a multi-dimensional debate of these topics.
