Not every location along the pipe is suitable for flowmeasurement. Hydraulic flow conditions affect flowmeasurement to a large extend.Therefore the measu-ring site has to be selected carefully.

PRECISE DETERMINATION OF PIPEGEOMETRY AND TRANSDUCERPOSITIONS

Measurement accuracy is largely influenced by the geometric variables of the measuring point such as thecross-section of the pipe and the exact positions of the transducers.

For that reason determination of those variables as well as precise installation of transducers is of majorimportance.

RISONIC 2000 FLOWMETER

◗ RISONIC 2000 uses very high resolution multipathtransit time measurement and the latest digital proces-sing technology (DSP) to achieve first class measuringaccuracy.

◗ Transducers cause distortion to the fluid flow if theyprotrude into the conduit. RISONIC 2000 compensatesthis effect by means of flow computation based on thetype of transducer used.

◗ Advanced signal analysis (cross-correlation) enablescorrect signal detection and improves measurementreliability, even in the presence of considerable amountsof suspended solids.

Hydraulic flow conditions have to be considered in orderto achieve the best measurement performance. Optimumselection of measuring site and path arrangement areprerequisites for successful flow measurement.

SIMPLE FLUID FLOW CONDITIONSWhen the flow is free of turbulence as isthe case with long straight runs, a singlepath arrangement is ideal.

SELECTION OF MEASURING SITEBased on the building plans of your facility,our engineering group provides suggestionsfor the best measurement location. For critical applications, computerised velocityprofile simulations are performed to support selection.

SELECTION OF PATH ORIENTATIONAND ARRANGEMENTDepending on the actual hydraulic flow conditions, ourengineering team selects optimum orientation andarrangement for the measuring paths.
