NEW EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS
both stainless steel. Maintenance involves only periodic lubrication and washdown when changing chemical feeds. Dept. IEC, Gifford-Wood Co., Hudson, Ν. Y. 6
Dust Filter with Novel Cleaning System
Modified design of the Dynaclone dust filter features a new "roller cleaner" which moves back and forth across the open ends of the filter bags, sealing each as it is being cleaned by atmospheric air. Cleaning air is brought in by the main operating fan during normal filtration. Complete dust seal, provided by the wear-resistant gum rubber rolls, blocks off bags adjacent to those being cleaned, preventing pickup of dislodged dust. Dept. IEC, W. W. Sly Mfg. Co., Cleveland 1, Ohio. 7
Portable Self-Priming Filter Pump Product: Plastic p u m p and plastic filter chamber.
Arrows trace course of entrainment-iaden vapors through high-pressure purifier (item 9)
Features: Portability obtained by mounting components on phenolic-impregnated linen panel, and fitting assembly with rubber-tired, ball bearing casters. Selection of corrosion resistant materials of construction. Filtration with no danger of channeling.
Uses: Filtering expensive and corrosive solutions without leakage or metal contact with product.
Manufacturer: Dept. IEC, Sethco Manufacturing Co., 2284 Babylon Turnpike, Merrick, Ν. Υ. 8
Centrifugal Purifiers for High-Pressure Ranges
Operat ing on a two-stage principle of separation and using carefully controlled centrifugal force to guide entrainment-laden vapors through a series of vanes and baffles, recently developed purifiers can operate at pressures u p to 15,000 p.s.i. In the first stage of separation, impingement against a baffle removes larger droplets. Fine mist is removed in the second stage by centrifugal scrubbing in a uniquely designed separation element. Guided stream principle permits design of extremely small unit which eliminates carryover under normal operating conditions. Dept. IEC, High Pressure Vessel Section, Purifier Division, V. D. Anderson Co., 1935 West 96th St., Cleveland 2, Ohio. 9
