Version 2.80 replaces the Initial Forms feature with StylisticAlternates and the former Stylistic Alternates are now CharacterVariants. These changes were necessary to avoid a problemcaused by a significant change to the description of Initial Formsmade by Microsoft. Initial forms are enabled by default and notmeant to be exposed to the user, so they cannot be disabled inmodern applications.

Pali is my version of Palatino, but withtighter copyfit. The default line spacingfor 10 point text is 12 points instead of13.5 points as in Linotype Palatino.

A full range of Latin characters make itideal for Pali, Sanskrit, RomanisedIndic scripts, nearly all Europeanlanguages, and Vietnamese.

A basic Greek character set, and a widerange of symbols extend its usefulnessto other academic fields such as Mathsand Science. Currency and mathssymbols are designed on the figurewidth, while other symbols, arrows,and geometric shapes are a uniformwidth and align with the Caps heightwherever the design permits.

Petite Capitals and other OpenTypefeatures in the Private Use Area areavailable to older applications thatdon’t support OpenType features.
