Dear Holy Trinity Friends and Family, I am very happy to announce that His Eminence has assigned Fr. Joshua Pappas to Holy Trinity as Proistamenos. He, Presbytera Joanna, and their daughter and son have moved to Grand Rapids from Port Washington, NY where he was Assistant Priest at The Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. Yassou! 2019

CONGRATS to our amazing four Greek Dance Groups! Their performances during our Yassou Festival were terrific! We are so proud of all our kids and young adults! They practiced hard all summer and it showed! We say this every year, but this was our best year yet! We would like to thank all our parents, grandparents and our Yassou Chairmen for all your support. We would also like to thank all our Dancers, who make the commitment and deserve all the credit! We thank them for not only dancing, but for also volunteering countless hours leading up to and during Yassou! BRAVO to all the following Dancers!! Goya News! The past 6 weeks have been busy! This year we are looking forward to Pan Orthodox Activities! Four churches participating are St. Nicholas, Holy Cross and St. George. Our first activity was a trip to Holland State Park in August and most recently, on September 28, we traveled to Dormition Monastery in Rives Junction for a retreat. Please mark your calendar for the following: October 6 - GOYA assumes Par ish Council Duties Register for Holiday Hoops October 13 - Activity following Religious Ed. October 19 - Evening Campfire and Games at Holy Cross October 20 - GOYA Meeting following Religious Education October 23 - Fellowship Wednesday 6 pm - 7:30 pm October 27 - Activity following Religious Ed November 1 - Vigil and BBQ St. George November 2 - Childcare provided by GOYANs for Bogdan Speaker Series - three shifts 8:30 - 10:30am , 10:00 - 12:00pm , 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm November 3 - GOYA assumes Par ish Council Duties November 8-10 - Holiday Hoops St. John Ster ling Heights November 17 - Activity following Religious Ed November 20 - Fellowship Wednesday

Details on upcoming events: Parish Council Duties - First Sunday of the month. Please report at 9:55 am Fellowship Wednesday - this may change to another day in the week. This is an evening to get together one time per month. Pizza provided. 6 - 7:30 pm Pan Orthodox Activities - this will take place monthly. These are posted in the FJJYR and in the bulletin. Holiday Hoops Annual Basketball Tournament at St. John Sterling Heights November 8 - 10. Holy Trinity will once again be sending a team(s) to Holiday Hoops. It is a weekend event and is fulll of fellowship and fun. Basketball skills are not a necessity but a great desire to have fun is. If we do not have full girls and boys teams we will partner with another Orthodox church. Cost for the weekend is $75 and includes registration, all food, hotel and transportation. Details will be available Oct 6 in the youth room. Registration deadline is October 18. GOYA annually sends out the Holy Trinity Annual Christmas Card. This is a great way to support the Youth and to send Christmas wishes to friends and families of HTGOC. Cost per family to have your names in the card is a $20 donation.

National Church Music Sunday October 6th, 2019

Dear Hope, and Joy parents, As the first activity of this year, we are going as a group to Post Farms in Hudsonville, on October 19th, at 12:30 pm. I have reserved a meet and greet table to pass out yours, and your children’s wrist bands. This will include, all day access to the many activities, as well as donuts and cider. I will be sending out Genius sign up a method to RSVP to this and other events. Watch for this on your email you supplied to the Sunday school group. If we enjoy Post Farm as I believe we will; I am planning a time for us to enjoy their sleigh rides the first Saturday in January.
