Further Ideas - ExtensionsProject Title Description Expected Benefits«Smart Public Transportation Management»

The system includes information devices places on public transport vehicles to continuously measure the condition of various parameters on the town.

The main functions of the system concern:

Continuous monitoring of various environmental parameters throughout the area covered by the public transportation vehicles.

Management of urban bus operations such as vehicle location tracking, intervention on the routes, calculation of the expected arrival time of the vehicle, fleet tracking reports

The benefits for citizens include: effectively inform users about traffic

conditionsreduced journey times and increased

productivityeasier to rely on the use of public

transportationimproving the mobility of vulnerable

citizens. The benefits for the municipality of the

system concerning:  reduce the environmental impact by

encouraging the use of public transportation

reduce overall management costs of public transport infrastructure and provide services to their citizens that improve the quality of life

obtain updated measurements on traffic conditions

Project Title Description Expected Benefits

«Smart Energy Management System»

System for recording data on the actual energy consumption of an indicative sample of households in the city of Karditsa by placing automated control systems (building management system) in households, shops and neighborhoods.

By processing the recorded data with specialized algorithms from the domain of artificial intelligence we will provide proper management of energy resources with direct economic and environmental benefits to the residents.

Energy savingsReduce cost of living of

households Creating new jobs

Further Ideas - Extensions

Project Title Description Expected Benefits

«Smart Irrigation System»

The smart irrigation system provides a tool for assessing the needs of plants and their supply with sufficient quantity of water at the right time.

This "precise“ irrigation focuses on the needs of each individual plant or small areas in a park instead of a big area with various plants. Typical systems aim to provide water based on static schedules without taking into account the different needs of different plants and trees in a park or garden.

The system offers flexibility by reducing the need for specialized personnel.

Water savings up to at least 30% (by preventing unnecessary watering)

Avoid errors during irrigation (e.g. 'drowning' plants from overwatering)
