OUR ENGLISH PROJECT:

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION AND RECYCLING

Pollutionis the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause

adverse change.[1] Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, suchas noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign

substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as

point source or nonpoint source pollution.

Recyclingis a process to change waste materials into new products to prevent waste

of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce

energy usage, reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from

landfilling) by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower

greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production. Recycling is a key

component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce,

Reuse and Recycle" waste hierarchy.
