Job Purpose

Works closely with Project QA/QC Manager on the implementation of the systems laid out in the Project Quality Plan and assists in ensuring all Quality records are maintained as set out by the Project scope.

Job

Responsibility, Authorities and Accountability

Ensures the quality records, acceptance certificates, completion

certificates and the documentation for specific systems and buildings/areas are prepared and collated in accordance with project requirements.

Ensures in-house inspections are undertaken prior to inspections with the Consultant and Main Contractor.

To manage the raising of site inspection requests through the site Engineers and checking the validity of the SIRs.

Monitors the schedule of inspections to ensure Clearance is issued to the Main Contractor for his Civil/Structural works.

To follow up commented/rejected inspections with the Engineers for rectification and subsequent inspections with the Consultant.

Coordinates with the site Stores of timely inspections of materials on site and ensures the correctness of the materials in compliance with the project specifications.

Assists the Project QA/QC Manager in the implementation of the technical documentation such as Method Statements.

Coordinates with the planning and scheduling department to ensure milestone dates are understood for each turn over area.

Coordinates with the Project QA/QC Manager for the completion of as-built turnover documentation.

Resolve any discrepancies between the completed milestone and quality documentation.

Coordinate with the commissioning department to define the scope of work.

Assist the site subcontractors/suppliers to compile turnover dossiers.

Provide progress information for incorporation into project reports.

Monitors and controls testing for incorporation into as-built dossiers.

Consider the implications of delays in QC as-built turnover documentation and bring to the attention of the project QA/QC manager.

Monitor and control the status of punch list and exception lists relevant to quality dossiers.

Attend the weekly QA/QC, and commissioning meetings.

Establishes close liaison and rapport with the Consulting Engineers to ensure smooth processing of all inspections.

Working Conditions

Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following site safety precautions.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in any Engineering; 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. For Trainee/Apprentice – enrollment in Engineering Degree
