S. ran about 7 million pounds last year ( all imported from Africa now, but Peru imports are a future possibil- ity). Sesoxane, however, is not ex- pected to affect this market materially. • Boost Methoxychlor Use. The Du Pont discovery that Sesoxane is a methoxychlor synergist will increase the latter's market potential according to Shulton. Last year about 38 million space spray units were sold, most of which contained methoxychlor in con- centrations which vary from 1 to 3 r .O. The discovery could double the market. Sesoxane sales possibilities, naturally, stand to gain from any methoxychlor in- creases. Du Pont and Geigy make the killing agent. While possibly boosting the methoxy- chlor market, Sesoxane does not syner- gize DDT, hence will not affect that business directly. DDT is used in many bomb and spray formulations to kill insects. What Sesoxane can do with other killing agents, such as chlordan and dieldrin, is being studied now. It will be several months before its synergistic effect with these chemicals is known. Shulton will be the only Sesoxane producer this year but may license others in the future. This move will depend to a large extent upon how po- tential customers accept this new prod- uct which promises a change in insecti- cide buying habits. ô 7347 Ο *Lû WÊM piiliin uMusu mm ^^ . 49$ΕΕΕΕ6ΕΡ* smmmme For co m pi eie;iî0m^i0§g^^^^^^m Ask Dep'f Sf|&|lo|sen^|m5Ma||p Also îrt15^o : c' kVf^ αϊiο υ r|Mî^^^|eirn^i^|î^g^ SK4 ^ 639-41 ': SouifrHancc^||^|^|^^î|| WlNTHROPS 1958 PRICE LIST ON BULK CHEMICALS IS NOW READY! • Boost Methoxychlor Use. The D u Pont discovery that Sesoxane is a methoxychlor synergist will increase the latter's market potential according to Shulton. Last year about 38 million space spray units were sold, most of which contained methoxychlor in concentrations which vary from 1 to 3r.O. The discovery could double the market. Sesoxane sales possibilities, naturally, stand to gain from any methoxychlor increases. Du Pont and Geigy make the killing agent.

While possibly boosting the methoxychlor market, Sesoxane does not syner-gize DDT, hence will not affect that business directly.

This move will depend to a large extent upon how potential customers accept this new product which promises a change in insecticide buying habits.
