Kingsmeade Cheese

Since 1998, artisan cheese makers Miles and Janet King

have quietly created a broad range of supreme ewe and

cow’s milk cheeses on their idyllic 30-acre farm on the

outskirts of Masterton in the Wairarapa.

Ewe’s Milk Cheese Castlepoint feta Ι Traditional and salty with a tasty underlying richness. Crumble into green salad with Bees Blessing Honey, Lemon and Ginger cordial, Greytown Gold Koroneiki olive oil and cracked salt and pepper. Grasslands gouda Ι Rich, soft & smooth. Mingle with roast Pinnacle Grove Wairarapa walnuts, fresh rocket and cherry tomatos. Try melted on caramelised onions. Mt. Bruce havarti Ι A creamy, delicate flavoured cheese with a lemony bite. Eat with pears, ginger or Lavenders Green Roast Lemon Chutney. Riversdale pecorino Ι A hard, Italian style cheese made from sheep’s milk. The word ‘pecora’ means ‘sheep’. Try it shaved on salads, pasta or pizza with lashings of Greytown Gold Olive Oil. Ewe’s milk can be suitable for those who are Lactose intolerant!

Cow’s Milk Cheese Lansdowne gouda Ι Creamy with a slight acid bite & fresh aftertaste. This will suit most palates. Ngawi brie Ι French style, mushroomy with soft centre. Try with Lavenders Green Zuchini Pickle & crusty bread. Rimutaka red Ι A deep, buttery flavour. Taste from a cheeseboard with a rich Wairarapa chardonnay. Sunset blue Ι Warm, buttery texture with a hint of lime. Savour by itself or with winter fruit & port.

Lavenders Green

Lavender’s Green produces high quality, natural, spray-

free, lemon-based food and beverage products.

Ingredients are mostly sourced from the farm and locally

in the beautiful Wairarapa.

Product Range Lemon Cordial – 750ml Made to a very old traditional NZ recipe. It has a shelf life of 24 months from date of making and, once opened, we reccommend that it is refrigerated and consumed within one month. It is most refreshing made up with iced water, mineral water or soda, delicious with hot water (can be used as the basis of a toddy), and, for grown-ups, it is delightful diluted with gin or vodka. The 750 mL bottle of concentrate when diluted makes up to five litres of drink. Lime Cordial – 750ml Lime Cordial has a wonderful, sharp, tangy flavour, which is delicious with vodka, gin, brandy or white rum, with a dash of soda or tonic. Very refreshing made up with ice cold water. As you sip it, close your eyes and think sun, white sand and gently rolling surf … It’s transporting stuff! Like its big sister Lemon Cordial, it is a concentrate and should be diluted. The 750 mL bottle makes up to 5 litres. Lemon, Ginger & Manuka Honey Concentrate – 750ml This concentrate is made with Meyer lemons which are grown organically in the Te Puhi farm orchard. They are chemically spray-free but they do enjoy a monthly spray of liquid seaweed from Mr Gundy, which does wonders for their appearance and flavour. We use preservative free crushed ginger for warmth and zing and we use NZ Manuka Honey for flavour and health. This is a completely natural, authentic and fresh product and one taste confirms this. We recommend that you approach a Lavender’s Green cordial with reverence. As you pour, you are partaking in a ritual. You have chosen a natural, fresh product because you honour yourself and your body, and you know you will be giving yourself and your family a wonderful gift. Add sparkling, chilled mineral water to a tall glass with ice and lemon wedges or for the old school, add a shot of whiskey and hot water for a soothing toddy. Take it to your bed if you are feeling poorly. For those undergoing chemotherapy, it is a panacea for nausea, loss of taste and a dry, irritated mouth and throat. The concentrate when diluted will make up to five litres.

Preserved Lemons – 300g, 2kg, 10kg Whole lemons preserved in a smoked paprika and salt brine for use in Moroccan and Middle Eastern style cooking. These look and taste superb, are packaged in a glass jar, and have a shelf life of 19 months. They need to be refrigerated on opening. Try a preserved lemon in the cavity of your next roast chicken or slice and dice the skin of half a lemon and spoon through steamed basmati rice or couscous. Excellent with roasted fish or chicken.


Lemon Curd – 250ml, Foodservice 1kg, 2kg, 54kg A beautiful product. It is made with fresh, organically-grown and spray-free lemon juice and rind, vanilla sugar, butter and free range eggs. The eggs are produced by Te Puhi hens who are so free ranging they are lucky to be alive, but who produce orange coloured yolks. It has a shelf life of sixteen weeks and should be kept cool in transit and storage, and refrigerated on opening. Delicious on toast, shortbread or in a tart case. Lime Curd – 250ml, Foodservice 1kg, 2kg, 54kg Lime lovers rate this product highly, waxing lyrical about its tangy-ness. The limes are sourced from an organic farm in Tauranga, and the curd is made to the same exacting standards as the Lemon Curd. It has a shelf life of sixteen weeks and should be kept cool in transit and storage, and refrigerated on opening.

Russian Fudge – 160g, Foodservice 1kg (Cut to your specifications) An old fashioned New Zealand treat made using the Edmonds Cook Book recipe. Very slowly cooked to give a creamy, melt in the mouth sugar rush. Made with butter, milk, condensed milk, sugar and golden syrup, it has a shelf life of six weeks if kept cool. Packaged in a cellophane bag and tied with raffia with a simple black, white and green label. Lemon Mustard – 215g, Foodservice 1kg, 2kg, 54kg A mustard with attitude. Not a polite little Dijon this one, it has grunt. For people who appreciate real warmth in their mustard, there is a distinctive lemon flavour with no bitterness. Delicious with fresh ham, a thick steak, rare roast beef or a tasty cheese. Lemon Mustard transforms fluffy mashed potatoes - try adding two teaspoons to your next batch of mash. Very popular with men. Shelf life of one year, packaged in a glass jar. Roast Lemon Chutney – 265g, Foodservice 1kg, 2kg, 54kg This product captures people and they become addicted to it. Whole lemons are roasted in the oven twice to give a mysterious, smokey, caramelised flavour. The secret herbs and spices used remind you of something, but it’s elusive, you can’t put your finger on it … A perfect accompaniment for some of the softer Indian curries, particularly Butter Chicken, great with cheese and crackers and a glass of wine on the verandah before dinner, and stunning with roasted fish garnished with fresh coriander. Zucchini Pickle – 245g, Foodservice 1kg, 2kg, 54kg We have captured the essence of summer in every jar of this pickle – it is truly seasonal. We have watched the zucchinis grow organically at Te Puhi Farm in our raised beds which are made with recycled railway sleepers and filled with mushroom compost. Like all of our products, the Zucchini Pickle is gluten free. Use it as a healthy sandwich spread or mix it with cream cheese for a colourful dip. It is moorish on rice crackers, toast or on boiled or mashed potatoes. It is the condiment you feel really good about eating because all those veggies makes it feel healthy! It is bottled in glass and has a shelf life of one year.


Lemon Lavender Jelly – 250g The Virgin Queen, Elizabeth I, would not make important decisions of state without sucking on a lavender lolly (legend has it). Feel like royalty too as you slather this jelly on your roast lamb or morning toast. This jelly is made with crabapples grown at Te Puhi. The tree must be at least 130 years old. The crabapples are shaped like miniature red delicious apples but the flesh is red. Organically-grown Lavandula Angustifolia and Meyer Lemons from Te Puhi add an extra flavour dimension.

Product Range Drachenfels Lager Ι This light, refreshing, lager follows the style favoured in Cologne, and known as Kőlsch. While being very light and pale, it nonetheless has more body and perfume than a simple lager. Contrary to these other lagers, Kőlsch is a top-fermented beer. As with Champagne, the regional style has naming protection. Alb Weiss Ι Alb Weiss is a classic German-style “Hefeweizen”, or pale wheat beer. A large wheat content gives a rich, soft, fruity taste, further defined by a small amount of aromatic hops. The long, slow mashing process brings out the fullness of the malts which provide the basis for this summery beer. Sollinger Bock (Spring Only – NOW AVAILABLE!) Ι This is a strong beer (6.5%) in the Maibock (May, or spring in New Zealand) style. It has a fullness of taste which comes from the mixture of malts, backed up by a combination of both bittering and aromatic hops. Mendip Bitter Ι Mendip Bitter is a beer in the traditional British Pub-drinking style. Its rich, flavoursome maltiness is balanced by a distinctive hop note. The decoction mashing process brings out the fullness of the Viennese malt which is the basis of this typical session beer. Cornhill Porter Ι This is a classic of the dark beer styles, having very rich, chocolatey-spicy flavours, which come from the heavy use of roasted black malt combined with understated hopping. Monkey Point Indian Pale Ale Ι India Pale Ale was the solution to providing drinkable beer to the British troops in India, during the Raj era. The usual pub beers could not withstand the journey, but high alcohol content and massive hop levels preserved the beer during the voyage through the tropics. During this time the beer mellowed and, in those pre-stainless-steel days, the oak flavours from the casks would have imparted extra character into the beer. Great End Extra Strong Bitter Ι This Extra Strong Bitter (ESB) has a rich, malty character, combined with a powerful, hoppy bitternss and a strong 6.5% alcohol content.
