Overview

Pure Hot House Foods is a greenhouse grower and marketer representing over 400 acres year round. Established in 2003, our founders have roots to the greenhouse and farming industries reaching back more than 4 generations and we’re proud to build upon that rich heritage in everything we do. Our energetic team is forward thinking, consumer-driven and dedicated to bringing fresh, healthy produce to market.

Integrated Pest Management

• Rather than using pesticides on our crops, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a program where we release ‘good bugs’ into our greenhouses to prey on ‘bad bugs’

• Our closed environment also reduces the threat of pests in our greenhouses

Protected Water Supply and Reduced Water Usage

• Our closed water system means that any unused water is collected, sterilized and recirculated through our irrigation system – no run-off water is released into the environment.

• No waste water means that our greenhouses use as little as 1/20 of the water that traditional farming requires.

amount of water and nutrients, our plants never have to fight for survival and are able to put all of their energy into producing the best possible fruit.

Pure Hot House Foods is committed to providing a safe product for consumers. We recognize our responsibility to operate in a way that ensures our facilities meet the highest standards of quality.

Pure Hot House Foods incorporates a system of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) to achieve these standards. The system relies on communication between management, sales and production staff and includes a focus on continuous improvement, facility maintenance and sanitation, employee training and hygiene practices, and extensive checks and controls of the product throughout the time it spends in our facility.

Pure Hot House Foods participates in a regular audit process under the Global Food Safety Initiative. In addition, a dedicated Food Safety Coordinator along with a Food Safety Committee work together to affirm our commitment to food safety every day.

Selection & Storage • Temperature: 62 – 68°F (16.7 – 20°C) • Humidity: 85 – 88% • Typical shelf life: 7 – 14 days • Tomatoes should be left at room temperature and kept out of direct sunlight. Cold

temperatures will halt the ripening process and reduce flavor

How are greenhouse-grown cucumbers different from field-grown? • Skin is thin, edible, and not waxed so it does not need to be peeled • Cucumbers are seedless and therefore also ‘burpless’

• Baby cucumbers contain less water and more meat, making them crunchier and well-suited for snacking and dipping

Our fresh cuts grillers and roasters are recently expanded into the fresh-cut market with a line designed to make grilling out easy. This innovation award winning item is ready to go on your grill, oven or microwave. There are multiple options of sizes, 10 ounces, 14 ounces, and 21 ounces that will fit everyone’s needs to get the additional produce sales that you’re looking for. Customization is also available to tailor your every need – packaging, private labels, logistically, and more. The fresh-cut products are grown in-house in Pure Hothouse greenhouses or by suppliers, then are cut, triple-washed and packed in a tray. The tray is covered with a clear plastic film that allows retailers to display the fresh, colorful product inside. The film also includes cooking instructions and directs consumers to the company's Facebook and Twitter accounts for recipe ideas. The Pure Hothouse organization is fully committed to food safety aspect to any fresh-cut or whole product. It is our mission to provide safe and healthful products. Earlier this year, the company was recognized with a perfect score of 100 under the Primus GFS certification, which covers all areas of production from pre- and postharvest to handling, processing, warehouse and distribution.
