NEW EQUIPMENT Air Flow Snubber

An air flow snubber and pulsation damper is being made by King Engineering Corp. This unit provides a controlled slow rate of flow of compressed air or gas for operation of continuous-reading hydrostatic instruments and for purging

pneumatic instrument lines. It protects against surge pressures by providing a flow restriction in th^ line. The snubber is also used as a pulsation damper for pressure gages, recorders, manometers, and similar instruments.

The snubber is IVH in. long by IV* in. maximum over-all, and is made of hexagonal brass rod throughout except for a neoprene O-ring used to seal the snubbing screw. Inlet and outlet ends are tapped for '/«-in. pipe.

Flow rate is approximately 0.04 cu. tt./min. at a pressure drop of 70 lb./sq. in.; and maximum operating pressure is 1000 lb./sq. in. Ε 1

Today especially, gypsum board manufacturers need all the production they can get from existing equipment. That's why the advantages of ULTRAWET 30 DS are particularly important.

Used as a frothing agent in gypsum board manufacture, ULTRAWET 30 DS liquid is clearly superior to other chemicals in both performance and economy. Tests show that ULTRAWET 30 DS permits accelerated throughput of finished board without increasing kiln capacity.

Make sure you are getting all the benefits available in ULTRAWET 30 DS. Let us help you in your application problems. Wr i t e for complete details. The Atlantic Refining Companv, Chemical Products Section, Dept. A-20, 260 S. Broad St., Philadelphia 1, Pa.

valiez a^uit? the pump having maximum slurry and abrasive handling capabilities. and prevent the accumulation of solids between the impeller and casing side walls. >Jo wear rings are necessary. A reduction jf pressure on the shaft seal, providing optimum seal performance, is also obtained by this impeller design. Ε 5

Salt Spray Cabinet. Singleton Co.'s bi-T Lucite Salt Spray Testing Cabinet can be used for "fog-type" spray testing of all ferrous and nonferrous metals, and organic and inorganic coatings.

It is said to be inert to all solutions and gases used in the complete range of "fog-type" testing. Its atomizer operates

on any plant air system, and a 110-volt electric line is sufficient for its heater.

Specifications: cabinet 36 in. by 24 in. by 36 in. deep i.d.; lid, 3 8 7 2 in. by 277* in. by 3 in. deep i.d.; water seal trough, 2 in. wide by 3 in. deep i.d.; atomizer nozzle 8 in. from bottom; Glorod heater; specimen supports ( 2 ) ; thermostat 6 0 c

to 100° ±: 1° F.; solution reservoir 7 in. deep; drain reservoir 6 in. deep; fog collectors ( 2 ) ; fog collector stands ( 2 ) ; steel stand for cabinet Total weight: approximately 160 lhs. Ε 6

Gas Analyzer. Gow-Mac Instrument Co.'s "Gas Master" is a multi-application instrument for quantitative gas analysis by

relative thermal conductivity. Its MÎUS»III£ element is a Gow-Mac double-pass Model 30-S, which gives full response to mosi changes in gas quality in less than 30 sec.

It will use any noncorrosive cylindej gas or mixture as reference. It can be used for oxygen and nitrogen purit> studies, cylinder identification, and observation of enriched oxygen and nitro gen atmospheres. Inert and speciaJ atmospheres may also be tested, as well as flue gas, respired air of humans OJ animals, and even air:gas precombustioi» mixtures.

Optional connections are provided roi a recorder. It is approximately 8 by 10 b> 8 in. and weighs about 20 lbs. Ε 7

Quiet Blast Burner. Fisher-Todd Bias* Burners have been redesigned with one-piece gas and oxygen entering chambers They are said to operate almost silentl>

Any one of four basic working flame* can be had. Valve adjustments product· small or large sealing flames, small O) large annealing flames, without changing tips. A pilot flame keeps the burnei ready foi instant use.

There are two models of Fisher-Todd Blast Burners. The Standard Blast furnishes sufficiently high temperatures foi working glass tubing up to 2 in. in diameter. The Master Blast has two com pletely independent burners built con centrically into the same burner body. Thtt wide temperature range of this burner permits the working of tubing from V* k* to 3 in. in diameter. Ε β

Air-Control Valve. An automatic ah uontrol valve, for use with air suction syj> terns and dust collectors, is made by th*-Kindt-Collins Co. T h e Ventomatic Aii Control Valve opens and closes auto matically as the machine switch is turned on and off. Sizes are available to fit 3 in.. 4 in., 5 in., 6 in., 7 in., and 8 in. ducfc»

Ε 9 Sanitary Fitting. A threadless sanitarv

fitting is being made by Tri-Clover Machine Co. This Tri-Clamp fitting is available in the full line of standard sanitary type fittings and valves, for both "permanent" and "take-down" sanitarv lines in IV» in., 2 in., 2Vi in., 3 in., and 4 in. sizes, made of 304 stainless steel.

It consists of a flange type ferrule, a molded Hycar gasket which fits into tht-grooved ferrule lip, and the Tri-Clamp itself, which is a spring clamp which grips the ferrule edges, and a snap action toggle. Ε 10

Lever-Bolt Ring. Drum Parts, Inc., art-now making a type of ring known as th«* Lever-Bolt Ring. It combines the lever locking ring with a bolt closing ring. The cover of the drum is securely locked in place with the lever and then the two ends of the ring are secured and drawn tight by means of the bolt, giving double protection. When loaded drums are stored long enough for the gasket to take a permanent set, leakage can he overcome by giving a few extra turns on the bolt
