Conclusions

Nuclear polarization gives access to more β-decay observables Optical pumping achieves high polarization in an open geometry

→ P = 0.991±0.002 Will not dominate the uncertainty for present data set We expect

dAβAβ

≤ 0.5% (ASMβ =−0.5706(7))

Future plans include modeling our MOT to reduce uncertaintyfrom initial sublevel distribution

Polarization measurement at 10−4 precision requires moresystematic studies
