Sylvachem doesn't make paper size or water­proofing agents, asphalt or caulking compounds, tires or fungicides.

Gasoline additives or cleaners, lubricants or paints, plasticizers or printing inks, adhesives or vinyl plasticizers, soaps or detergents.

But Sylvachem is part of all these things, and more.

Because Sylvachem has been manufacturing tall oil rosins, distilled tall oils, and fatty acids from crude tall oil. To go into

all the things that Sylvachem is part of, and part of in a big way.

Our 130-foot-tall, 14-foot-diameter column is designed to fractionate over 100,000 tons of crude tall oil a year.

Recently our efforts paved the way for the production of fatty acids from sources other than crude tall oil, giving us raw material flexibility.

A real advantage in today's market situations.

Our R&D efforts provide a unique line of

light-colored, heat-stable rosins and specially treated rosins that are replacing gum, and wood rosins every day.

We were able to achieve these outstanding develop­ments because we have the technical expertise that brought Sylvachem onstream rapidly, giving us more time to devote to R&D.

Sylvachem led the way in the development of new, or improved products made from crude tall oil. And we're now pioneering a new

line of fatty acids derived from vegetable oil sources, along with some new and improved processes resulting from the scientific appli­cations of the latest techniques.

So, just because we don't make paper size, and a lot of other things, doesn't mean we aren't part of them.
