Reactions 1047 - 16 Apr 2005 S Interferon-α Mania: case report A 41-year-old man presented with a 1-week history of increasing disorganisation, sleeplessness, mood instability and delusions of persecution, grandiosity and reference. He had recently started treatment with interferon-α [dosage and duration of treatment not stated] and ribavirin for hepatitis C. On admission, interferon-α and ribavirin were discontinued and he was treated with haloperidol. His symptoms resolved over the next few days and he was subsequently discharged. Malik AR, et al.
