MASKING ODORS

FOR FUEL OIL

Many firms engaged in the sale of fuel oil for both home and industrial con­sumption have been con­cerned for some time with complaints of unpleasant odors experienced during filling of tanks. Recently this problem was sub­mitted to the D & Ο Prod­uct Development Labora­tories with the result that a complete series of mask­ing compounds has been produced for this specific purpose. Exhaustive test­ing has shown that any of these compounds used at a rate of as little as 1 /50 of 1% will eliminate the unpleasant odor of fuel oil . . . thus eliminating as well numerous customer com­plaints. The new com­pounds are priced from $.90 to $2.25 per pound, and individual develop­ment with specific prod­ucts will be undertaken by the D & Ο industrial perfumers.
