Our school original name was Paleokas-

tro Rep Primary school. It was housed

in the stone school locaded in Heroes

Square Paleokastro. It was founded

before 1900 and it first operated in

the narthex of the Church St. Athana-

sious. In 1999 a full-day section made its first appearance. In

October 2005 it was renamed as the 1st Primary school of

Paleokastro. “Didaktirio” has a total of 12 classrooms, a video

classroom, a computer classroom, a library and a multi-purpose

room where we have our theatre stage to date.

The girl and the soldier

Once upon a time it was Christmas Eve. A fami-

ly was eating tasty Christmas dinner. All the

family was waiting for the next day. The next

day was the Boxing day. In the morning the

kids woke up at 6:00pm the presents were un-

der the Christmas tree. The present of the girl

was a collection of soldiers. There was a tin sol-

dier too. The girl loved him and called him Ja-

mie. After that every night Jamie became alive and they lived

happily ever after.

Scientists will design spe-

cial food. It will taste bet-

ter and will be healthier for

us. Farmers will grow this

food from special seeds.

Perhaps the food we buy

will be in tablets or drinks,

then we won‟t have to cook

it.

Travel

There‟ll be lots of new ways

to travel. We‟ll have back-

packs with special rockets in

them so we can fly short

distances. Space planes will

take us to other planets like

Mars for exciting space

holidays.

LET‟S INTERVIEW NTONTI DIMITRI

- How did you select this profession?

- First choice for the profession that I would follow in my life was the faculty of gymnas-

tics because I like sports a lot and the profession of teacher after that. I specially love

children. Finally however I did not accomplish to pass in the faculty of my first choice and

I decided to follow the second choice a faculty very relative with the first and thus I be-

came a schoolteacher.

- How many years have you been doing this profession?

- I have been practicing this profession for 23 years.

- What is the element you like most in your job?

- What I like more in my job is this daily friction with my students at the duration of

teaching. It is a “live” profession which is continuously altering and I like this a lot.

- What is the most difficult part of your job?

- The most difficult part of my work I believe is the one that has to do with results. If my

students acquire the essential knowledge, experiences and values with a pleasant and crea-

tive teaching then I believe that we have pleasantly succeeded one of the most difficult

parts of our job and are all pleased.

- How much have things changed from the moment you began your profession up to today?

- The conditions have changed a lot in comparison to the first years of my carreer and of

course towards a positive direction. Firstly the school buildings today are much better than

the old ones. Also they have changed the books and a lot of schools are equipped with li-

braries, computer labs, interactive whiteboards and overhead projectors(ours is one of

these schools).

- Is your profession threatened or does it have perspectives?

- I believe that the profession of a schoolteacher has future since women continuously give

birth to children,( though less in comparison to the previous years) who should obligatorily be

educated.

- Have you been influenced by the financial crisis and in what degree?

- I would say as much as anyone else. We all owe however to adapt to the new conditions

though of course we are not to blaim directly.

- Would you engourage young people to follow your profession?

- Hhm! Difficult question, but I believe that I know the suitable advice. The basic presump-

tion is to love children. Then I am sure that they will achieve their goals as good teachers

and they will be thankful about their job and in this distant travel they will acquire unique

experiences.
