THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE dignity for people through work Consorzio Mestieri (www.consorziomestieri.org) facilitates inclusion processes to disadvantaged or weak workers and provides services to enterprises and cooperatives on the territory. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE CGM WHAT WE DO DO Ensure dignity to all people, protecting and curing fragilities Since the beginning this has been the mission of CGMs district social cooperatives that deal with the elders, people with disabilities, psychiatric patients ecc. They pursue holistic approached and try to involve these people as much as possible in the cooperatives activity. 5700 psychiatric patients assisted 767 residential houses for psychiatric patients 53.400 old people assisted 62 residential houses for elders 50 daily centres for elders 155 domestic services for elders 37.000 people with disabilities assisted 200 structures for people with disabilities (residential, daily services) Future investments>find new forms of organization which allows to find solution whitin the private market, find new integrated solution to new care and assistance needs (work, house, care, tourism) 21 22. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE Children and families together for the future to come Education and wellbeing of children and youngsters is what drives the action of the cooperatives that are specialized in childhood and families services such as: kindergarten, domestic assistance to minors, youngsters activities centres, holidays and leisure centres, laboratories in schools, family centres. 600 childhood services /kindergarten 202 branded PAN 18.000 places for 0-6 age children 2.500 workers 30 specialized structures for holidays 250 turnover of children in touristic structures 290 family home and minors communities 180.000 youngsters involved in the networks activitiesFuture investments> experimenting new 0-6 age services, work on family and parental support through conciliation offers, intercepting new families needs, support new citizens and youngsters 22 23. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE Environmentally and socially sustainable businesses The partnership between CGM, its coops and Renovo aims at providing new job opportunities within the activities of running a renewable energy biomass plant. Social enterprises will be asked to provide the material to be burned and to work in the plant and in the greenhouses around the plant. 1 international partner working in the green economy6 advanced projects of biomass plants construction (opening 2014-2015) 120.000 tons yearly biomass quantity needed 90-100 number of workers to be employed 1.000.000 the investments of involved cooperatives Future investments> construction of a NewCo, new social enterprise to work as an intermediary in the business of gathering and selling of biomasses; widen within the national cooperative group CGM the know how on environment and green energy 24 25. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE Social cohesion for urban re-generation The projects of social housing within CGMs network aim at combining an offer of housing at affordable prices with the need to promote social cohesion and urban regeneration especially in metropolitan areas such as Milan, Turin and Florence. Example in Milan: CONSORZIO SIS - MILANO 10.000.000 investments for 4 RESIDENCEs (more than 120 bed places) 1 hostel More than 90 apartments for people in situation of fragility 1 family centre Future investments> developing the social housing in different areas, increasing the knowledge and the exchange of good practices; creating mixed houses where different people live together and where community is recreated. 25 26. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE The world in our pockets With social tourism the Group CGM wants to promote accessible experiences both from a physical and economical points of view to all the people who want to have the right to go on holiday.Future investments> spread the know how within the CGMs district, exchange and integrate some touristic typologies, increase the offer with complementary services 26 27. THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE New activities and new production: two examplesConjugates social aspect (work of womens social coops) with ethical fashion connecting the past (traditional loom + high costs of production) with the future (design) contributing to the requalification of a territory and the fight of Ndrangheta (criminal organization) www.cangiari.itPromotes and supports territoriality and local resources enhancing the value of food, crafts and tourism. It represents an ethical franchising model that allows the social inclusion of disadvantaged people and the finding of resources to be invested by social coops in welfare actions and activities. www.panecotto.it 27 28.
