IridologyThe iridology is to examine the iris for the prognosis of diseases.The afisvitoumeni iridology is based on the assumption that everyorgan of the human body has a corresponding position in the iris

They used vague concepts of "disease" and"Signs." In many cases the disease may not have been diagnosedcorrectly or accurately. Could justify iridology finding correlations

which could not be demonstrated under some controlledexperiments, a causal relationship. Some of their relationshipsmay be correct, but many are probably false, given the very broaddefinition of "disease" and "mark". Found recurring patterns wherethere were (apofenia). Misinterpreted the data and gave greatweight to several confirmations of theories, ignoring or not whilelooking for cases that did not confirm their theories. Many of theaffirmations can have the form of various subjective confirmations.We do not know the role played by the strength of the diseases fortheir patients. Many diagnoses were probably wrong, but therewas no objective test to determine the validity of these diagnoses.Some diagnoses may have been good but can be used asiridology and other signs, apart from these eyes to the draw.What is more surprising however is that the iris is so unique anddurable that many argue that it is better feature for recognizing aperson, even the prints.

Iridology is the science that deals with the analysis of the iris, especially fordiagnostic purposes (iridodiagnosi).

The story begins 3000 years BC but we meet later in the Chaldeans,Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks (Hippocrates), etc. The modern history of theWestern world begins much later withHungarian Ignaz von Peczely (1826-1911), where if a young man, in hisattempt to catch an owl's leg broke. After a while noticed that the iris of theeye of the bird started to create a dark line. The bird stayed at home untilhe recovered, but had longer small dotted white lines in the area of the oldwound.
