    This book is intended for those who teach or are taught Greek as a second or foreignlanguage. It is an instructive textbook focusing on a variety of audiences belonging to be-ginners level (A1-A2): a) Erasmus students, b) EILC students, c) students participating inspecial Greek language learning programs such as summer language scholars, d) all thoseinterested in intensive and short-term courses regarding the learning of Modern Greek lan-guage.

    The aim of the book is to help learners obtain basic skills, so as to be able to respond toreal-life communication circumstances and formulate an indicative picture of Greek cultureand civilization.

    For the development of the textbook the authors have taken into consideration the rel-evant curriculum of Athens University as well as the levels of language proficiency adoptedby the Greek Language Center.

    The book consists of 20 Units-Lessons, covering a wide range of current communicationcircumstances and presenting all the phenomena of grammar and syntax, which are es-sential to these levels.

    The material is written in a simple and friendly language and its use requires no preex-isting knowledge on Modern Greek language. It is framed by images, sketches and songs,aimed at making even more lively the journey of language learning and acquaintance withthe Greek civilization. The exercises that have been selected cover the spectrum of bothgrammar and vocabulary as well as the range of skills needed to produce and understandverbal and written speech.

    The book is accompanied by a CD with exercises of listening comprehension as well asby appendixes containing the keys to the exercises, features that make it ideal even for self-teaching.

    This textbook is the second one of the series Journey to Greece for those who aretaught and teach Greek as a second or foreign language.

    The aim of Journey to Greece 2 - Modern Greek for foreigners, Levels B1 & B2 is tohelp learners respond to more complex communicative situations, traveling through itspages in places of the country, discovering elements of the culture, meeting images andsituations from contemporary reality.

    The book is constructed by twenty units - lessons. Through a variety of skills related tocomprehension as well as production of written and spoken language what is taught is allthe grammar, syntax and vocabulary of the corresponding level, according to the curricu-lum of Athens University for Intermediate (B1) and Upper Intermediate (B2) students andthe levels of language learning established by the Greek Language Centre.

    The publication is accompanied by CD containing exercises of listening comprehensionas well as the dialogues of the book.
