    LIAS VOUDOURIS, Conductor

    Born in Athens, he studied at the Hochschule der Knste, Berlin, graduating with a diploma in conducting in 1983.

    Since 1984 he has conducted regularly all leading Greek orchestras at the Athens Epidaurus Festival, as well as the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls. He has also conducted well-known orchestras in Germany, Austria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Israel, Hungary, Portugal, Russia, Uruguay and China.

    His repertory includes the most important symphonic works and oratorios, as well as more than sixty operas. He has recorded extensively for LEGEND and EMI, as well as for the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation.

    Since 1999 he is Music Director of the Greek National Opera Orchestra.

    ROSABELLE BIANCHI, Soloist

    Soprano, she graduated from the University of Malta with a BA (Hons) in music studies and a P.G.C.E. in music teaching. She commenced her vocal studies at the Johann Strauss School of Music under the tuition of Alice Horne and later with Claire Massa. She currently studies with Juliette Bisazza Zanni.

    Rosabelle participated in various master classes organised by the British Kodaly Association studying with Hungarian soprano Paula Somoraj in England, locally with baritone Thomas E. Bauer and tenor Daniel Lichti and recently in Italy with tutors from Juilliard University and Drake University amongst others. Her performances include roles like the Ghost Jester in The Maltese Cross in Paris, Mari in Il-Wegda (The Promise), Elisabeth in Elisabeth: or to be a Mann the latter three operas by Charles Camilleri, Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Paquette (Le Candide), Second Lady (Die Zauberflte) and Gianetta (Lelisir damore). Her repertoire includes sacred works, Lieder, opera and contemporary works.

    THOMAS BLONDELLE, Soloist

    Tenor, he was born in Bruges, Belgium. He studied singing, piano, composition and chamber music at Stedelijk Conservatorium Brugge and obtained a degree in musicology at the KUL University of Leuven. He is a prize-winning laureate of the Vias Competition in Barcelona, Queen Elisabeth Competition and the Belvedere Competition.

    While still studying, he made his debut at the Thtre Royal de la Monnaie (Brussels) at the age of 20, singing the leading role of Hans Scholl (Die Weie Rose). At the Staatstheater Braunschweig (2006 till 2009) he sang Belmonte (Die Entfhrung aus dem Serail), Boris (Ka Kabanova), Alfredo (La traviata) and Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus). Since 2009, Thomas Blondelle is a soloist at Deutsche Oper Berlin, singing Tamino (Die Zauberflte), Erik (Der Fliegende Hollnder), Ismaele (Nabucco), Herodes (Salome), Macduff (Macbeth), Prince (Lamour des trois oranges), David (Die Meistersinger von Nrnberg), Chevalier (Dialogues des Carmlites), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Pelleas (Pelleas et Mlisande) and Male Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia).

    As a guest, he was invited by the Thtre Royal de la Monnaie, Bayerische Staatsoper Mnchen, Volksoper Wien, Staatstheater Wiesnaden, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Schleswig Holstein Festival, the Saito Kinen Festival, De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam, the Luzern Festival, the BBC Proms, Cincinnati Opera and the Opra National du Rhin in Strasburg. In 2015, he performed the solo tenor role in Jeanne dArc au bcher with the New York Philharmonic in New York and at the Philharmonie de Paris.

    MARIE-CLAUDE CHAPPUIS, Soloist

    Mezzo-soprano, a native of Switzerland, Marie-Claude Chappuis is a frequent performer on Europes foremost stages such as Salzburg Festival, Grand Thtre de Genve, Festival dAix-en-Provence, Zurich Opera, Theater an der Wien and Brussels La Monnaie. She has been internationally acclaimed for her intense performances in operas by Handel, Monteverdi, Telemann, Cavalli, Mozart and Strauss.

    Ms. Chappuis is also a most distinguished concert and recital soloist, who performs a vast repertory from old to contemporary music in the prestigious music centres of Europe and Asia, thus collaborating with renowned conductors such as Giovanni Antonini, Riccardo Chailly, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Christophe Rousset, Riccardo Muti, Sir Roger Norrington, Emmanuelle Ham and Ren Jacobs. She tends with utmost devotion to the art of the Lied and of the Mlodie Franaise.

    Among Marie Claude Chappuis many recordings we find St Matthew Passion, La clemenza di Tito (Grammy nomination), Idomeneo with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, La finta giardiniera with Ren Jacobs, Le miroir de Jsus by Andr Caplet and Mozarts Requiem.

    CELLIA COSTEA, Soloist

    Soprano, she was born in Piatra Neamt, in Romania, in a family of musicians. She studied at the Liceu Musicale School of Piatra Neamt with Elena Botez and then she got a Degree at the Music University of Bucharest .

    Her most notable performances include Mim (La bohme), Li (Turandot), Floria Tosca (Tosca), Marguerite (Faust), Leonora (Il trovatore), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Desdemona (Otello), Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Elena (I Vespri Siciliani), Micala (Carmen), Suzel (Lamico Fritz), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro).

    At the beginning of her career she won first prize at international singing competitions such as the Francisco Vias of Barcelona. the Montserrat Caball of Andorra, the Beijing Singing World Competition and the Julian Gayarre of Pamplona.

    Since then she has been starring in prestigious world theaters such as London Covent Garden, Liceu de Barcelona, Staatsoper Wien, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Teatro Massimo Bellini of Catania, Greek National Opera, Erodes Atticus of Athens, Frankfurt Oper, Konzerthaus Berlin, Oslo Opera Theater, Royal Opera Amsterdam, Opera Municipal de Marseille, Opera Royal de Wallonie de Liege, Hannover Staatstheater, Beijing National Opera.

    HEGE HISTER, Soloist

    Mezzo-soprano, born in Bergen, Norway, she studied at The RNCM, Manchester, and at The Norwegian Opera Academy. She is soloist at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet since 2002.

    Her primary roles include: Sextus (La clemenza di Tito), Carmen, Cornelia (Giulio Cesare), Auntie (Peter Grimes), Grfin Geschwitz (Lulu), Ottavia (Lincoronazione di Poppea), Kabanicha (Ka Kabanov), Jocaste (Oedipus Rex), and Mescalina (Le Grand Macabre) under conductors such as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Alessandro De Marchi and John Fiore. She has led the casts of world premieres by distinguished composers such as Gisle Kverndokk, Glenn-Erik Haugland, Ole-Henrik Moe and Rolf Wallin.

    Hege has continually worked in creative chamber music settings, f.ex.as a recurrent guest at Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival, Crete. Now, a full-time freelancer, she recently sang Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) at the Oscarsborg Opera. Next season she sings the title role in a world premiere of Synne Skouens Ballerina at The Norwegian
