Alerts

Building a Stock Alert on a Stock List• Click [New]• Check box next to “Select stocklist”– Click [Manage Stocklists]– Click [New]

• Give your stocklist a name– Type in your stocks using the search box– Click [Save] when done

• Your stocklist will now appear in the dropdown menu• Create your Alert as for a single stock

Study Alert Performance

• Select an Alert (click until highlighted yellow)• Click [Historical Test]– Define Look back period, default is 6 months– Study return 1-, 2-, or 3-months going forward

• Click [New]• Choose a stock or stocklist• Choose Volume as your Alert condition– Example: daily volume which is double the 50-day

moving average of volume• Parameter: Daily volume is 200% or more of 50-day

SMA of volume– Note: low volume Alerts only have relevance as an

end-of-day alert

Specialized Alerts; Change in Dividend

• Click [New]• Choose a stock or stocklist• Choose Fundamental-Informational– ‘Change in Dividend Per Share’

• Save your Alert– This is an informational alert and has no defined

Parameter– You can add an informational tag if required

Specialized Alerts; Change in Buy Ratings

• Click [New]• Choose a stock or stocklist• Choose Fundamental-Ratings– ‘No of Buy Recommendations gained [x]’– Set Parameter– Add information tag if required

• Save your Alert– Alert will trigger if the number of analyst ‘buy’ ratings rise

by the amount set in your parameter from the previous day’s value.
