n-HEPTYL ALCOHOL
When substituted for their branched chain counterparts, these straight chain molecules can often impart superior properties to your end products. When estenfied with polyols. for example, n-heptanoic acid can impart highly desirable properties to special lubricants and plasticizers. Glycerophthalic resins estenfied with it can increase the resistance of paints to aging. And its low molecular weight esters can be used in perfumes and food flavorings. Also, in many cases, plasticizers such as di-n-heptyl phthalate are more effective than others prepared from the corresponding branched chain alcohols. Many mixed phthalates such as capryl/n-heptyl and
decyl/n-heptyl also offer excellent performance because of the linear structure of n-heptyl alcohol.
Write for free samples. Whether you're trying to achieve unusual solubility characteristics or biodegrad-ability these exceptionally pure products may be just the solution you need. They're produced by ΑΤΟ Chimie, and available in commercial quantities through Intsel Corporation, exclusive USA distributor. We'll be happy to provide literature and free samples. Just write to Kent Mescher at Intsel Corporation, Chemical Division, 825 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022. Or call him at (212)758-5880. He can help you start thinking straight.
