2.ELSTAT/ΕΛΣΤΑΤ
The purpose of ELSTAT is to produce, on aregularbasis,OfficialStaHsHcswhich:– coverallthefieldsofac5vityofthepublicandprivatesector,
– aresubmifedtointerna5onalagenciesincompliancewiththeobliga5onsofthecountryand
– concernthegeneralpublicorspecificcategoriesofusersofsta5s5csinGreeceandabroad.

2.Na5onalandEuropeanSta5s5calSystem
• The Hellenic Sta5s5cal System (ELSS) comprises agencies andauthoriHes that have the responsibility or obliga5on to collectsta5s5cal data. ELSTAT coordinates all the ac5vi5es of the otherELSS agencies that concern the produc5on, development anddissemina5onofthecountry’sofficialsta5s5csandforwardsthesesta5s5cstoEurostat.
• TheEuropeanSta5s5calSystem(ESS)isbuiltupwiththeobjec5veofprovidingcomparable staHsHcsatEuropean level. TheESS is apartnershipbetweenEurostatandthena5onalsta5s5calins5tutes(NSIs)andotherna5onalauthori5es,whichareresponsibleforthedevelopment,produc5onanddissemina5onofEuropeansta5s5cs.
