NOPCO ADDITIVES INCREASE SERVICEABILITY

SYNTHETIC RUBBER, TEXTILES

NOPCO® FOA . . . minute quantities inhibit sludge. Nopco FOA, the multipur­pose furnace oil additive, is highly effective in minimizing formation of insoluble resi­dues. It also acts as a dispersant for any insolubles present. For these purposes, a lit­tle (50 ppm) goes a long way.

Nopco FOA reduces color changes in stored fuel. It is an excellent rust preventive — again in very economical quantities (15 ppm). An added feature is its ability to substantially reduce the electrostatic charge developed in active fuels.

CORAX® . . . lubricant, plasticizer and antiozonant for synthetic rubber. Corax lubricates synthetic rubber both internally and ex­ternally. Internally it reduces the tendency of rubber to heat under repeated flexing. Externally it produces a permanent film of lubri­cant which resists oxidation and seizure between metal and rubber in articles such as seals and gaskets. As an external lubricant it has excellent mold lubricant properties. Rubber stocks part readily from the mold without buildup on mold surfaces. Because it imparts stability over a wide heat range, molding temperatures can be raised 10 to 15 degrees. This permits molding time to be cut by one-third to one-half. Corax also greatly improves the ozone resistance of nitrile rubber. Specific applications. O-ring seals, suspension blocks on RR cars, high-pressure rings, spring pads and shackle bushings, rubber lips on wheel bearing seals, seal rings on water meters, rubber gaskets, conveyor belts, inflatable tanks, rubber insulation on automobile and refrigerator doors.

NOPCOTEX9 CP . . . cationic softener for textiles. Nopcotex CP is unsurpassed for giving a soft hand and appealing bulkiness to cottons, synthetics and blends of the two, in toweling or dress goods, knit goods or draperies. It is used at economically low levels, is compatible with most resins and highly substantive. It has little effect on color, resists scorching, does not affect tear strength, is highly resistant to yellowing, and possesses excellent antistatic qualities. It dissolves at low temperature, therefore is an easy-to-handle processing chemical. It marks another significant advance in our service to the textile industry.
