NEW PRODUCTS THIS WEEK Equipment Hydroacoustic oscillator (DCO). Direct-coupled oscillator develops more than 5000 pounds of peak sinusoidal force on a 10 pound payload in the 400-Hz. frequency range; useful for fatigue testing, fluidizing, and pelletizing. General Dynamics, Rochester, N.Y. Ε 30 Urethane foam testing machine. Portable apparatus de- termines porosity of flexible urethane foam to assure con- formance to quality standards; uses metering system to evaluate the amount of air flow drawn in through the sample. Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich. Ε 31 Ion exchanger. Continuous ion exchange water treatment plant has a capacity of 900 g.p.m. of makeup boiler feed-water; uses hydrogen-cycle and sodium-cycle ion exchangers. Degremont-Cotrell, Inc., Bound Brook, Ν J. Ε 32 Sun simulator. 32-kw, high-intensity solar radiation simulator system, for testing satellite components, produces one solar constant over a 37-inch-diameter circle at a distance of 35 feet; employs carbon arc source and provides good spectral match to the sun's radiation.
