The solution is our short-Insert Storage Vial. The insert is fused with the outer body so that even powder can be retrieved easily. The wide opening of 8 mm and the low depth of the insert, allow the use of a pipette. The long vial body allows the application of a reasonably sized label and the handling of the vial with gloves. Thanks to the conical insert, smallest volumes may be retrieved.

Wash Vials with diffusion caps in six colours
Wash Vials are in fact regular 4 ml screw vials filled with a solvent. Instead of a septum, the screw cap has a funnel, the diffusion insert. Contrary to other Wash Vials on the market, our Wash Vials have a diffusion insert that snaps into the screw cap, staying in place when the vial is opened to be filled, so that the diffusion insert cannot get lost. Since the syringe descends to the same depth in both the standard 12 x 32 mm vial and the 15 x 45 mm Wash Vial and a good part of the solvent in the Wash Vial is not retrieved, the minimum filling level is marked on the Wash Vial. On the side of the waste solvent this is in reverse. The syringe should not dip into the waste solvent and the maximum filling level is marked.

With the increased sensitivity of detectors, there is an increased problem of ghost-peaks sourcing from phtalate and siloxane bleeding from the septum, which is used to seal the vial. Our ms-Pure silicone/PTFE septum minimises the risk of ghost peaks. However, if the source of the ghost peak is siloxane, we recom-mend the use of an aluminium septum with a PTFE sealing ring to prevent ghost peaks in your analysis.
And we recommend the use of a silicone/aluminium septum, if impurities are dissolved into the solvent through the PTFE because the PTFE is too porous. This occurs especially if the sample is held in the Autosampler over and extended period of time.

Headspace Chromatography requires the vial to be tightly sealed and the closure to withstand pressure. This requires some effort, and is tiring when closing larger series. Our screw-top Headspace vial only requires a torque < 1 Nm for a pressure tight seal while common solutions require a torque > 8 Nm.

The Crimptronic is an electronic crimper, in which the vial is placed with cap in place. The crimp head descends onto the vial and an electronic cylinder crimps the cap with a predefined pressure. As the Crimptronic crimps with a predefined pressure rather than against a mechanical stop, which is the case with manual crimpers, the Crimptronic even compensates the tolerance of the glass and the septum thickness. This guarantees that one closure is exactly the same as the next.
The Crimptronic is not faster than a manual crimper but produces much more reproducible and uniform results, particularly when working with difficult closures like lyophilisation stoppers or magnetic metal caps.
Crimp heads are available for all standard cap sizes and are exchangeable by hand. De-crimp heads for the opening of vials are also available.

Carlo Carbon-Chromathe family gnomeThe family, the smallest unit of society has changed over the last decades from the «standard» nuclear family to a variety of family types such as the patchwork family, the single parent family or rain-bow family which is still rare so far. A family is nor-mally characterised by at least two generations liv-ing under one roof. The family provides the adoles-cent generation with a socially stable environment, protection and social control to acquire competences and discretion to act. Each child growing up in such a sheltered environment of piece and freedom, may count itself lucky, as, unfortunately, this may not be taken for granted.
We, the chemoLine GmbH, the Glastechnik Gräfenroda GmbH and the infochroma ag are a conglomerate of companies, run by friendly families, who are happy to hand over responsibility from the older to the younger generation bit by bit. We, the oldergeneration, however, see our re-sponsibility not limited to just handing over the business. We at-tach just as much importance to handing over the responsibilty for employees, suppliers and custo-mers, who together secure the sustained value and with that the success of a company. This certainly sets a high standard which won’t always be met and which is inherent in the ongoing conflict of interests such as economical and social obligations or quality versus price.
Our Carlo Carbon-Chroma joins our gnome family of Rosa Maria - patron saint of
the laboratory - Yetino Rodowitch - who guarantees the purity of the sample - and Fläschli (Vial) Josepf - guardian of a fair and respectful fight.
In contrast to the other members of our gnome family, Carlo’s connection to chemistry is directly visible in the «C» in the centre of the diamond on
his jumper. The «C» stands for the sixth element carbon, which is the molecular base of all live
on earth. The «C» stands also for Chroma as in chromatography. The «C» also stands for
chemoline, our web-shop for chemistry fans. And the «C» also stands for «commitment». The commitment for cohesion and solidarity in family matters especially outside the
standard nuclear family. This commitment towards the family demands from everyone involved to be tolerant and forgiving.
We are pleased if Carlo reminds you of the good within your family and even should not everything be perfect that it may encourage you to take a step forward and to try to «improve» your family in your own way. This is certainly a high demand but we know: «If your faith is as big as a mustard seed, you can tell the mountains to move fromhere to there.» We wish you such a «mustard seed believe» and all the best for you and your family.
