Clear overprint varnishes and lacquers are lightened and re­lieved of yellowish casts by add­ing M.D.A.C. to the plastics, resins, and combinations of these solids used in the systems. M.D.A.C. provides crystal clear coatings that impart a high gloss. The glistening effect of the M.D.A.C. gives depth and rich­ness of tone to color printing where whites and light areas appear whiter and colors more vivid. Extremely thin coatings applied by rolling or spraying are given added attractiveness by M.D.A.C. Coatings treated with M.D.A.C. are effective on label papers, coated papers, cover stock, car­ton stock, foils, and clear plastic films. Easily incorporated into most varnish or lacquer systems, M.D.A.C. has good solubility in all well known organic solvents.
