Action 5.1.: Establishment of two Regional Information Centers for Energy Efficiency, one at each country (GREECE and FYROM)

Main Objective: “to raise awareness and expertise on energy efficiency in buildings”

WP5: Establishment of Energy Efficiency Info Centers

In Greece, one Center has been established by the Prespes Municipality, with the contribution of TEI Western Macedonia

The Energy Efficiency Information Centre has been established at the premises of the Prespes Municipality: Lemos – Prespes, Greece

EUROCONSULTANTS S.A. is responsible for the operation of the Center

Role of the Regional Energy Efficiency Information Centre:To develop multi-versed services in the fields of energy efficiency and environmental protection*

Info Center Activities

The Centre will also provide with useful information regarding the pilot installations developed in the framework of the project (relevant legislation, technologies used, technical obstacles and requirements, etc.) in order to:

demonstrate to the general public the benefits of energy efficiency in public buildings

promote the energy efficiency technologies disseminate the protection of the environment

To inform local societies on the great potentials that public, corporation and residential buildings have in decreasing energy consumption one of the most important issues of concern for local population nowadays

To raise awareness on all the possible interventions on buildings in order to decrease their energy consumption and to cover a significant part of their consumption with environmentally-friendly or renewable energy technologies

Goals of Info Center

To highlight the role of the EU (through the financing of PEEBPE project) in helping vulnerable parts of the local population (e.g. children in the case of the elementary and kindergarten schools of Agios Germanos, Prespes – Greece)

To ensure that the beneficiary population is aware of the roles of the partners and of the EU in the project

To promote the PEEBPE project and its overall communication objectives in general

Goals of Info Center

To inform local, regional and national authorities, public road/water/environmental management companies & authorities on the great potentials that public, corporation and residential buildings have in decreasing energy consumption

To ensure that students and staff of Universities and members of Associations and Development Agencies are aware of the roles of the partners and of the EU in the project

Transferability

The successful operation of this non-profit Info Centre and

the accomplishment of its mission and activities within the

territory of the Prespes Municipality will form the basis

upon which it could extend its activity to other geographical

areas, Municipalities, Regions, Countries, EU-funded

projects

And after the end of the PEEBPE project…What?
