★Cladribine/interferon-αFirst report of gynaecomastia?: case report
Gynaecomastia occurred in a 42-year-old man after hereceived treatment with interferon-α and then cladribine forhairy cell leukaemia.
The man initially received SC interferon-α 3MU on alternatedays for 20 months. Four months after stopping interferon-α,he began receiving treatment with cladribine 0.1 mg/kg/day asa 7-day continuous infusion. Following antineoplastic therapy,he also received ceftazidime and amikacin for febrileneutropenia. Nine months after receiving cladribine, henoticed that a firm, nontender mass had developed in his leftbreast. Mammography revealed an ill-defined, asymmetricalmass, representing glandular tissue. He also had epigastricburning, for which he received omeprazole. [Patient outcomenot stated.]
