The man initially received SC interferon-α 3MU on alternate days for 20 months. Four months after stopping interferon-α, he began receiving treatment with cladribine 0.1 mg/kg/day as a 7-day continuous infusion. Following antineoplastic therapy, he also received ceftazidime and amikacin for febrile neutropenia. Nine months after receiving cladribine, he noticed that a firm, nontender mass had developed in his left breast. Mammography revealed an ill-defined, asymmetrical mass, representing glandular tissue. He also had epigastric burning, for which he received omeprazole.
