ι Those who qualify under the following guidelines are welcome to apply for membership

MEMBERSHIP A. A bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering certified to the Society from an ACS approved institution. B. A bachelor's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering not certified to the Society, plus three years employment

in chemistry or chemical engineering. C. A master's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering. D. A master's or bachelor's degree in a closely related science from an ACS approved school and either recommended

by the Department of Chemistry or three years employment in chemistry or chemical engineering. E. A master's or bachelor's degree in a closely related science from an institution not approved by the Society,

including at least 24 semester hours of study in chemistry or chemical engineering, and further that physical chemistry or an equivalent course requiring calculus be included in the curriculum, and three years employment in chemistry or chemical engineering.

F. An earned doctor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or closely related science. G. Academic training other than above, but with proven evidence of significant achievement in chemistry"or chemical

engineering.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP H. Academic requirement (B, D, E) completed but without chemical experience. I. Senior student in good standing with three quarters of bachlor's requirements completed in chemistry or chemical

engineering including at least 24 hours of chemistry or chemical engineering.

NATIONAL AFFILIATION J. Major vocational effort directly concerned with the practice of chemistry or chemical engineering, but not meeting

6 STUDENT D I S C O U N T

An applicant who is a student majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline is entitled to a 50% discount for membership dues, while registered for at least six credit hours as an undergraduate or is doing full time graduate work. A student whose membership begins on July 1 is entitled to the discount only if enrolled for the college year next following the initial date of membership.

7 AGREEMENT
