Dear colleagues,

The 1st Orthopaedic Department of Aristotles University of Thessaloniki at “G.Pa-panikolaou” General hospital in cooperation with Orthopaedic and Traumatologic Association of Makedonia and Thrace is organizing the 1st Seminar of Upper Limb Tendon Transfer with workshop on fresh frozen cadaveric specimens in Thessalon-iki at 12-14 February 2015.Tendon transfers are an exceptional solution in case of nerve or tendon injury, as well as in cases of cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. Proper tech-nique and learning the indications are absolutely necessary elements for a success-ful outcome, since tendon transfers are the last line of defense for the restoration of motion and function of a limb.The 1st Tendon Transfer Seminar aspires to enhance this knowledge at interna-tional level and practice in cadaveric workshop will provide the participants with confidence so that they can be sufficient for these demanding surgeries.The scientific program will be held at AUTH Center of Dissemination of Research Results (Ke.D.e.A. AUTh) and the educational program on fresh frozen cadaveric workshop will take place at the Laboratory of Anatomy Descriptive AUTh. Our aim is, if successful, to continue training with recurring seminars every year.Despite the sharp economic downturn in the country which has an impact on all our activities, we believe that we should not stop the spread of knowledge and we would appreciate your support in this effort with your active participation.
