Dear Taekwondo friends,

I would like to invite you to the 1ο International Open Tournament of Thessaloniki, which will

take place on 9-10 October 2010.

Taekwondo Union of North Greece was established in 2001 and it’s one of the two Official

Unions in Greece. Our Union has many of the Hellenic National team’s top athletes, as are

Olympic, World and European champions.

The purpose of this International Open Tournament is to give a chance to the athletes who have

high targets, to participate to a flawless International Tournament, so as to can be better

prepared for the next important athletic organizations.

Our ambition is to establish this International Open Tournament in Thessaloniki in everyone’s

consciousness as a valuable championship, which will take place the same period, every year.

Our efforts concentrate to the organization of a tournament with perfect conditions, which each

year will involve athletes from more and more countries.

Our experience in international sporting events and the famous Greek hospitality that

characterizes us, guarantee the success of the Tournament.

3. CONTESTANTS

3.1 Membership Participants must be member of National Taekwondo Federation, affliated to the W.T.F.

Special offer for National Team members : FREE accommodation, food and transport from airport ( 4 male, 4 female, 1 coach, 1 referee and 1 head of the team)

3.3 Age Age categories according to WTF categories Male and Female up to 16 years 3.4 Graduation All competitors must hold at least 1st Dan

Each team can participate in each category with more than one athletes.

4. RULES 4.1 Competition Rules WTF Competition rules 2010 (ELECTRONIC SYSTEM) 4.2 Mode Single elimination tournament system Elimination rounds and finals : 3x2 minutes (30sec break) 4.3 Doping control Some contestants chosen at random will be tested. The list of prohobotes products will be equal to the list of the IOC.

4.4 Awards 300 € on the first place of each category To all champions of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cup will be awardes. Team trophies -Best male team trophies - Best female team trophies - Best overall team (Male – Female) All above mentioned team – awards will be awarded according to the Olympic medal standing system. 4.5 Hall Rules Only the competitors and their coaches will have admittance with registration and coach cards to the contest areas.

One (1) coach for every five (5) competitors has free admission. The minimum age for a coach must be 18 years and is only allowed in sportswear.

4.6 Equipment WTF recognized headgear, groin, forearm, shin protector, mouthpiece and gloves will be brought by the contestants compulsory. In July you will be informed about the electronic system (LA JUST or DAE DO) 4.7 Protest Only the official coach is allowed to protest to the protest committee, immediately after the end of the contest. An amount of 100€ will have to be paid for each protest. The protest amount will not be refunded in any case.

5.4 Modifications Modifications are possible at the registration for an amount of 10 € for each modification. After the official weigh-in no further modifications will be made. 5.5 Procedure: Application is only valid when payment has been done at the same time of registration. Applications are only valid when payments of all entrée fees have been received within 3 days by the Organization committee. If payment is not received by the organization committee within 3 days the application will be removed from our register. Incomplete application forms or applications without entry fees are considered not being received. The organization will confirm all received applications, should confirmation not been received please contact the event manager.

6. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS 6.1 Charges Accommodation charges for room ang boarding of the competitors and team officials (except National Teams) shall be borne by themselves. 6.2 Hotels For information please check the following websites: www.xanthi.gr, www.thraki.gr, www.thrace.gr or e-mail: netax@mail.gr, netaxan@gmail.com

7. TRANSPORTATION

Round trip airfare of the participants and team officials shall be borne by themselves. The National Teams’ s transport from the airport to the hotel as also the returning to the airport it is a liability of the organizing committee.

8.INTERNATIONAL REFEREES Invitations and participating of all Referees will be made by the Organizing Committee of the Taekwondo Union of North Greece. The invitation will be final only with confirmation of the Organizing Committee. Accommodation and full board from Friday 8th October, 2010 (check-in 18:00hrs) till Sunday 10th October, 2010 ( check out 12:00 hrs) will be born by the Organizing Committee.
