The Hellenic Waterski & Wakeboard Federation and the Pamvotis Waterski Club would like to invite all the E&A skiers to the 2018 E&A Open Waterski Championships.

Location Ioánnina, often called Iánnena, is the largest city and the capital of Epirus in north-western

Greece with a population of approx. 120.000.

It lies at an elevation of approximately 500 meters above sea level, on the western shore of lake

Pamvotis. It is located within the Ioannina municipality, and is the capital of Ioannina prefecture

and the region of Epirus.

Ioannina is located 350 km northwest of Athens, 250 km southwest of Thessaloniki and 80 km

east of the port of Igoumenitsa on the Ionian Sea.

Transport Ioannina city can be easily reached by car and airplane from Athens or Thessaloniki.

By Road

Ioannina is part of the major road network for northern Greece and can be accessed via

Egnatia motorway (A5) from Thessaloniki (apprx distance 250 km) or via a new motorway

E65 & A5 from Athens and Patras (apprx 350kms /3,5 hours)

By Airplane:

Ioannina Airport (IOA) is located 2 km from the Tournament Area and 3 km from

the City Center with 2 flights to/from Athens (ATH) daily. Direct flights from/to Cyprus,

Copenhagen and Stockholm are also serviced by Ioannina Airport.

Aktion/Preveza Airport (PVK) is located approx. 90 km (1h) from Ioannina with regular

daily flights to Athens and many biweekly low cost flights from/to many European

countries during summer period (Italy, England, Austria, Germany, Belorussia, Denmark,

Finland, Sweden, Holland, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, and Serbia).

Corfu Airport (CFU) is connected to many international destinations and almost all

European countries with regular and low cost/charter flights all year, but mainly during the

summer. (1h+30min ferry-boat to port of Igoumenitsa + 50min car trip (65 km) via A2 (E90)

motorway to Ioannina).

Thessaloniki (Makedonia) Airport (SKG) 2h+30min (250 km) from Ioannina via A2(E90)

motorway, is connected with regular flights to Milan, Rome, Zurich, Berlin, Dusseldorf,

Munich, Frankfurt, Dortmund, Moscow, London, Paris, Vienna, Larnaca, Prague,

Budapest, Bucharest and many other European cities.

By ship from Italy to Igoumenitsa

The port of Igoumenitsa is located 65 km (30min) from Ioannina via (A5) a new

motorway with regular daily ferry boat connections to Italy (Brindizi, Bari, Ancona,

Venezia).

Tournament Area All the events of the E&A Open Championships will be hosted at the waterski site, named

“kanali” where the 2013 E&A Open Championships and the 2014 E&A +35 Championships were

organized.

It is a man made canal, with fresh water, constructed in 2013 at a distance of 4 klms from the

city centre.

The organizer will provide transport by bus from the official hotel to the tournament area and

back twice a day.

Entry Requirements ATTENTION- Intentions to Enter and Entries MUST be submitted exclusively through the on line Admin system at http://www.iwwfeatc.com/ using the password which was provided to your Federation for this purpose. If you forgot your password, please contact the EC office at [email protected] for assistance. Please Note: Bye Laws art. 4.4.2. Intention to Enter Form

a. Intention to Enter

Deadline for submitting Intention to Enter Forms (ITE) is Sunday July 8th2018, which must be

submitted exclusively through the on line system at http://www.iwwfeatc.com/

Partial Entry fee of 50 euro per skier must be paid before ITE form is submitted, payment will go to the E&A central office. Account name: Tournament Council IBAN: NL13 ABNA 0811 2028 87 BIC: ABNANL2A Location: Amsterdam

This amount will be deducted from the full entry fee per skier per Federation.

A Federation entering a team, even of only one skier, after the 60 days deadline, will be fined

200 euro.

b. Entry Form

Deadline for submitting the Entry Forms and paying the balance of the entry fee is Wednesday August 22nd 2018; they must be exclusively submitted through the online system at http://www.iwwfeatc.com/ Entry fee for each Athlete is EUR 180 regardless of disciplines entered by each competitor. The payment receipt number, of the relevant registration fee, must be entered on the form at the time of submission. (Intention to enter form 50€ per skier, Entry form € 130 per skier) Late entry fee is 10 euro per skier per day after the dead line. Training Official Familiarization 4th &5th September 2018 The last two days immediately before the Championships will be reserved and used for Official Familiarization. This will be organized so that each competitor who has paid shall be allocated either a set number of passes and/or a certain amount of time at the discretion of the Chief Judge based on the principle that every skier shall receive an equal opportunity for familiarization. Slalom skiers will receive a maximum of 4 passes (or 6 minutes); trick skiers 2 passes (or 5 minutes) and jump skiers 3 jumps (or 6 minutes). Each team requesting familiarization time shall indicate on the official Intention to Enter form time required. Time will be scheduled for competitors on a random team basis, and shall be grouped by event, i.e. slalom familiarization; trick familiarization and jump familiarization (by jump height) will be

grouped together. Any athlete, who is not ready to ski in accordance with the schedule, will lose their official familiarization time. The Chief Judge shall have the discretion to change the start time of team’s familiarization based on extraordinary circumstances. Teams requiring familiarization time must send in the request for time on the Official Intention to Enter form together with the number of skiers in each event requiring time.

The deadline for submitting Official familiarization is July 8th, 2018.

On July 23rd the familiarization schedule will be published.

Official Practice at the Tournament Site can be booked on a rate of EUR 240,00 per hour or EUR 4,00 per minute. Deadline for paying familiarization is August 7th 2018, to the following Bank account:

Please note that familiarization time not paid will be reallocated. Starting from August 8th the organizer reserves the right to sell any remaining time that has not been confirmed by payment, on a first come, first serve basis. Training prior to the competition (and the official practice): Pamvotis waterski Club is open every day of the week starting June 10th 2018, till the end of October depending on the weather conditions. Training time can be booked from at the following rates: June 10th- August 24th, excluding July 20-29th at a rate of 30euro per set (15min) or 120 euro per hour. July 20-29th at a rate of 35euro per set (15min) or 140 euro per hour. August 25th to September 3rd at a rate of 40 euro per set (12min) or 200 euro per hour. Doping control In accordance with the IWWF, EC and AC Anti-Doping Rules, Doping controls will be conducted during the competition. By entering this competition, all athletes agree to be subject to doping control and must have signed the IWWF Athlete Consent Form.
