Αυστραλία-Φυσικό Αέριο Ωραίο άρθρο του Bloomberg, με τίτλο “LNG Seen Overtaking Iron Ore as Australia’s Main Export Driver”, του Ιουλίου 2015, που αναφέρει ότι μέχρι το 2018 η Αυστραλία θα χτυπήσει το Κατάρ στις αγορές υγροποιημένου φυσικού αερίου LNG, και ίσως καταφέρει να του πάρει τον τίτλο του μεγαλύτερου εξαγωγέα στον κόσμο. Όταν και οι συμβατικές πωλήσεις φυσικού αερίου λαμβάνονται υπόψη, αυτές δηλαδή που γίνονται μέσω δικτύων αγωγών και όχι μέσω πλοίων, όπως συμβαίνει με το LNG, τότε η Ρωσία είναι ο μεγαλύτερος εξαγωγέας φυσικού αερίου στον κόσμο. Το άρθρο αναφέρει ότι μέχρι το 2020 οι εξαγωγές LNG τις Αυστραλίας αναμένεται να ξεπεράσουν τα 50 δισεκατομμύρια Αυστραλίας ετησίως (37 δις δολάρια ΗΠΑ). Να προσθέσω ότι το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των εσόδων του Κατάρ προέρχεται από το πετρέλαιο, παρόλο που τα μεγάλα αποθέματα του Κατάρ είναι τα αποθέματα φυσικού αερίου, γιατί ακόμη και σήμερα

LNG Seen Overtaking Iron Ore as Australias Main Export Driver, 2015

Liquefied natural gas will overtake iron ore as the main driver of Australias exports with annual shipments surging to more than A$50 billion ($37 billion) by 2020, according to Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd.

Australia, expected to challenge Qatar as the worlds biggest supplier of the super-cooled natural gas by 2018, is getting a boost from LNG even as falling energy prices threaten to erode the industrys returns. Chevron Corp. and Royal Dutch Shell Plc are among companies developing Australian projects to tap Asian demand.
