The first part of Andreas M. Andreadis' (or Andreades) history of the loans that Greek governments contracted from right before the founding of the modern Greek state till the early 20th century. Andreadis was an internationally-respected jurist and economist and one of the first professors of economics and public finance at the University of Athens.
