FALL QUARTER RECAP Fall quarter brought with it the induction of 9 pledges into the Alpha Chi Camera class. Ultimately, all

9 crossed into brotherhood on December 13th, 2014.

Aside from the new pledge class, the fraternity’s focus was on preparations for Davis is Burning 25. Practices were held at least once a week, up until showtime.

DAVIS BURNED BRIGHT

On the evening of January 10th, Xi chapter held the 25th anniversary of its annual Davis Is Burning drag show to a sold out crowd. Hosted by our very own Heidi Audacity, the two hour show was filled with spectacular numbers performed by the brothers of Xi alongside local drag queens and brothers from all over the state. This year’s DiB took months of planning and countless hours of practice. All the brother’s did their part and the response from the crowd was overwhelmingly positive. There is even talk of doing a two nights for future shows. The morning of the show, a special ceremony was held in order to induct Johnathan Cameron, AKA Taryn Thru-U, as an honorary brother of our chapter. Johnathan, for the past 10 years, has volunteered his time to help put on this amazing show.

MR. CASANOVA

Clayton Lin, ΑΠ class, took part in KΑθ's annual Casanova this year. For the talent portion of the event Clayton sang "Feelin' Good" by Michael Buble and had the whole crowd applauding for him. After placing 3rd place in the event (out of 14 contestants) Clayton says he is proud because,"I was honored to represent us and knowing I've done my best. I am glad we got placed and had the opportunity to represent us." After the competition one of the judges told a brother to let Clayton know that she said, "please let that young man know I gave him all 10s." Good job to Clayton for making our presence known.

A WEEKEND GETAWAY: XI’S WINTER RETREAT

On the weekend of February 20th thru the 22nd, the brothers of Xi chapter headed up to a small cabin in the picturesque Sierra Nevada's. Thanks to the careful planning by Jim and Mitchell, the brothers had to the opportunity to gather in a gorgeous cabin at Carnelian Bay, North Lake Tahoe. In the time spent together, our bonds of brotherhood were strengthened thru through various activities held

throughout our stay. From nature hikes to casual board games, it was never a dull moment when the brothers were gathered. A yearly retreat, in order to come together as a chapter, is just the kind of tradition that Xi needs to ensure we continue working in congruence.

BUILDING A STRONGER XI

To act in congruence and collaborate towards a common purpose, to show commitment and citizenship while keeping consciousness of self in mind, to meet controversy with civility and strive for change. These 7 critical values alongside the 7 values of DLP were presented to all brothers this quarter. Thanks to the organization and leadership of Jim and Zac, we have been able to learn from one another what it takes to be the best Lambda Men we can be and to begin making a difference in the community we live in. Through each presentation and activity, we have grown stronger as a chapter. We look forward to making this a yearly tradition, not only to teach new brothers these critical values, but also reinforce the ideas and continue making our chapter the best it can be.

TAKING BACK OUR TROPHY

Not a second was wasted after wrapping up DiB25. The brothers quickly jumped into gear and began practicing for Arrowjam hosted by Pi Beta Phi. The month and a half endeavor involved many long hours of choreographing multiple parts. Constant changes took place, up until two weeks before showtime. Many sacrifices were made in order to make our performance the most fierce anyone had seen yet. We were not going to settle for second place; we were in it to win it. Despite our drive to win back the trophy, we never lost sight of the most important part, to have fun. Emotions ran high when they announced our victory and the brothers of Xi were rightfully rewarded after all our hard work.
