A

Th e main focus of this paper is the exploration of Angelos Sikelianos involvement with Surrealism. Sikelianos profound familiarization with the theoretical framework of that movement on one hand and his per-ception of the artistic achievements of Surrealism on the other hand underline Sikelianos position between German Romanticism and the Freudian psychoanalysis. Th e overarching framework of Sikelianos approach constitutes his particular conception of Surrealism which is Romanticism.
