    One detector and multiplesensors which providecomplementary information, pluson any electrical apparatus aunique global diagnostic output

    Measurements can be carried out both on-line with the equipment under test suppliedby the electric network and off-line, with the electrical system supplied by an externalvoltage source. Thus, off-line tests can be carried out only periodically, when the plantoperation is stopped. In addition, extra costs, related to the acquisition of the externalvoltage source, will occur.

    Therefore, the ideal solution for the prevention of electrical asset failures is on-line monitoring.

    For on line Permanent Monitoring, all sensors and theacquisition units are permanently installed, so that acontinuous monitoring can be performed.PO, DGA, t8, VIB, DTS are connected to one acquisitionunit; an Ethernet or wireless connection allows completeremote supervision and control to be carried out. Artificialintelligence is implemented in the detector able to provideremote alert in case pre-selected conditions are exceeded.

    For on line Periodic Assessment, an acquisition unit isconnected to permanently installed (or clamped) sensors fromtime to time. In this case periodic measurements can be carriedout without the need of turning the electrical asset out ofservice. The periodic assessment will be carried out with afrequency based on the state of each apparatus under test. Thisrequires the use of a suitable database, also provided byTechimp.

    PARTIAL DISCHARGE (PO)Insulation breakdown generally is the main cause of outage of electricalapparatus.Degradation phenomena associated with defects existing in theinsulation system, introduced during on field assembly of an electr icalapparatus or grown by insulation aging, can be diagnosed often bymeans of Partial Discharge (PO)measurement and analysis.
