May Held at the British Ambassador’s Residence, this event marked the formal launch of the Made in China 2025 report, compiled by CBBC with the support of DIT. The event highlighted key themes discussed in the report, including China’s ambitions to move up the manufacturing value chain, priority sectors and industries, and opportunities for UK firms (2016).

The launch was attended by Chinese government
partners and leading British and Chinese companies.
Speakers included: CBBC Executive Director Kirk
Wilson (pictured above); representatives of DIT; Dr
Zhang Hongguo of the Ministry of Industry and
Information Technology; and representatives of Rolls-
Royce.
CBBC organised this forum to follow on from the Made in China 2025 report launch in Beijing. Attendees, including representatives of CBBC member companies such as Rio Tinto, BA and Arup, had the opportunity to engage with experts in the advanced engineering industry and related fields (2016).

Over a hundred guests attended this conference, which was organised by CBBC and the Guangdong Board of Investment Promotion. The conference incorporated the launch of the Made in China 2025 report and looked at the theme of 'Accelerating MIC 2025‘ (2016).

Speakers included: Sally Zhang, CBBC Director for
South China; Andrew Massey, Deputy Consul-General
in Guangzhou; Chen Yuehua, Deputy Director-General
of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong (pictured
above); and representatives of companies such as
Risong Technology and Gowling LLP.
During a business matchmaking session, CBBC
arranged for 15 UK companies to speak one-to-one with
around 20 Chinese companies who had expressed an
interest in partnering with the UK.
Following the events in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, CBBC organised this conference in association with CCPIT Fujian and the Fujian Provincial Department of Science & Technology. Over a hundred UK and Chinese companies and government officials were at the conference for the local launch of CBBC's Made in China 2025 report (2016).

UK Made in China 2025 (Nottingham), 19 September 2016
Led by CBBC, this seminar explored the Made in China 2025 initiative and its implications for businesses in the East Midlands. The seminar highlighted key opportunities for East Midlands businesses to make headway in China and identified trade routes for local companies seeking to access the China market.
A range of speakers provided valuable insights during the seminar, including CBBC’s Jeff Astle, David Pearson of the
East Midlands Chamber, Ian Curryer of Nottingham City Council, Jason Teng of Potter Clarkson, Cassandra McAlpine
of Synergy in Trade, Tony Petersen of UKEF, and David Griffiths of Vistra.

CBBC organised this seminar to
welcome a government and
business delegation led by Ren
Shao, Deputy Director General of
the Department of Commerce of
Guangdong Province. The aim of
the seminar was to promote
bilateral cooperation in the
advanced manufacturing and
environmental sectors (2016).
Speakers included: CBBC China Business Adviser Boyi
Mu; Zhang Bin, Economic and Commercial Counsellor,
Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the UK; Li
Yuanbin, Vice Secretary of Guangdong Association of
Environmental Protection Industry; and Guo Shumei,
Deputy Director of Shunde Investment Service Bureau.
After the seminar, CBBC was able to facilitate one-to-one
meetings between UK and Chinese companies.
A group of British manufacturers,
universities and research bodies visited
Shenyang for a high-level UK-China
seminar on advanced manufacturing,
organised by CBBC and the British
Embassy in cooperation with China’s
National Development & Reform
Commission (2016).
The seminar was organised in response to the State
Council’s approval of a major policy to revitalise North-
East China’s manufacturing industry.
Delegates included representatives of the University of
Sheffield, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China,
Goodfellow, and Romax Technology.
Attracting over 150 Chinese attendees, the event was
followed by a site visit to Yuanda Group.
