Thales and Iris

Ο χειµώνας του 400 π. Χ. ετοιµαζόταν να δώσει τη θέση του στην άνοιξη. Ο Θαλής, ένας φυσικός

επιστήµονας. καθόταν στο εργαστήρι του και µελετούσε µε τις ώρες, γιατί ο καιρός ήταν βροχερός

και δεν µπορούσε να βγει έξω. Έµενε στο ∆ηµητρίτσι, ένα µικρό χωριό στη Βόρεια Ελλάδα. Η

βροχή δεν σταµατούσε κι εκείνος χωρίς να µπορεί να κάνει κάτι άλλο, καθόταν µόνος του µέσα στο

σπίτι του. Έβρεχε, κι αυτός από το παράθυρο του σπιτιού του παρατηρούσε πως έπεφτε κάθε

σταγόνα βροχής. Όταν σταµάτησε να βρέχει άνοιξε την πόρτα και βγήκε έξω. Είδε µπροστά του

τα πράσινα λιβάδια, τα λουλούδια, τα χρώµατα, άκουγε τους ήχους από τα πουλιά…

Εκείνη τη στιγµή βγήκε ένα ουράνιο τόξο. Πρώτη του φορά είδε ένα τέτοιο πράγµα. ο Θαλής.

Ξαφνικά ξεπρόβαλε λίγα µέτρα µακριά του ένα δεύτερο ουράνιο τόξο. Έκανε διάφορα σχήµατα και

µε µια κίνηση έφτασε µπροστά του. Τότε άρχισαν τα χρώµατα να συνθέτονται και ξεπρόβαλε από

µέσα τους µια οπτασία, µια γυναίκα. Τότε ο Θαλής είπε: «Πω, πω τι θαυµαστά τα έργα σου Θεέ

µου!»

The winter of 400 B.C. was coming to an end. Thales, a physicist, was sitting at his lab studying for

hours unable to go out because of the rain. He lived in Dimitritsi, a small village in Northern Greece.

As the rain kept falling, Thales stood at his window observing each drop of rain. Once the rain

stopped, he opened the door and went out. He listened to the birds singing…

At that moment a rainbow came out. Thales had never seen anything like that before. All of a

sudden a second rainbow came out. The rainbow took several shapes and came close to him. Then,

the colours started to compose and the vision of a woman appeared. Thales ecstatic shouted, “My

God, how wonderful your works are”!

Iarna anului 400 I. Hr. se sfarsea. Thales, un fizician, era de ore in laboratorul sau, neputand iesi

afara din cauza ploii. El traia in Dimitritsi, un sat mic aflat in nordul Greciei. In timp ce ploua,

Thales statea in fata geamului si observa fiecare picatura de ploaie. De indata ce s-a oprit ploaia, a

deschis usa si a iesit afara. A ascultat pasarile cantand....

Exact in acel moment, s-a ivit un curcubeu. Thales nu a mai vazut asa ceva pana atunci. Deodata un

al doilea curcubeu a aparut. Curcubeul a luat forme diferite si a venit mai aproape de el. Atunci

culorile au inceput sa se imbine si imaginea unei femei a aparut. Thales a tipat extaziat

“Dumnezeule, cat de frumoasa iti e creatia!”

Όταν η οπτασία εξαφανίστηκε, γύρισε στο σπίτι του και προσπάθησε να χαλαρώσει πίνοντας νερό.

Τότε είδε διάφορα χρώµατα στο πάτωµα. ∆υσκολεύτηκε να το εξηγήσει αλλά στο τέλος κατάλαβε

πώς γίνεται αυτό: Οι ακτίνες του ήλιου πηγαίνουν στο ποτήρι, περνούν από το νερό και έτσι

σχηµατίζονται τα χρώµατα.

Την επόµενη µέρα καθώς βρισκόταν στο δωµάτιό του κι έγραφε για µια από τις πολλές

ανακαλύψεις του, χωρίς να το καταλάβει, τον πήρε ο ύπνος.

Είδε πως βρέθηκε σε ένα καταπράσινο λιβάδι. ∆ηµιουργήθηκε τότε µπροστά του µια είσοδος η

οποία δεν ήξερε πού οδηγεί. Έτσι ξεκίνησε να ανακαλύψει τι έκρυβε το µυστικό πέρασµα. Αφού

προχώρησε λίγα µέτρα µακριά, είδε να αχνοφαίνεται ένα φως που φαινόταν να πλησιάζει κοντά του.

Εκεί που προχωρούσε υπήρχε ένας µεγάλος ψηλός βράχος. Τότε είδε πάνω του έξι διαφορετικά

χρώµατα: το κόκκινο, το πορτοκαλί, το κίτρινο, το πράσινο, το µπλε και το ιώδες(µωβ) . Σε λίγο

µια φωνή ακούστηκε µέσα από τα χρώµατα κι εµφανίστηκε µια όµορφη και ψηλή κοπέλα. Έµοιαζε

µε την οπτασία που είχε δει την προηγούµενη µέρα.

When the vision disappeared, Thales returned home and tried to relax drinking water. It was then

that he noticed several colours on the floor. At first he could not explain how that happened but in

the end he figured it out: the sun’s rays pass through the glass, through the water and thus the

colours are formed.

The following day, as he was in his room writing one of his numerous discoveries, Thales fell

asleep. He dreamt that he was at a green field. In front of him stood an entrance to an unknown

place. He decided to find out where this secret passage led to. He took a few steps and noticed that a

dim light in the distance seemed to move towards him. As he kept walking, a big rock appeared in

frond of him. On the rock there were several different colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and

purple. Suddenly a voice came out of the colours and a beautiful tall woman appeared. She looked

exactly like the vision he had encountered the previous day.

Cand imaginea a disparut, Thales s-a intors acasa si a incercat sa se relaxeze, band apa. Acela a fost

momentul cand a descoperit mai multe culori aparute pe podea. La inceput nu a putut sa-si explice

ce s-a intamplat, dar in final si-a dat seama: razele soarelui treceau prin pahar, apoi prin apa si asa

erau formate culorile.

A doua zi, in timp ce era in camera si isi nota una dintre numeroasele descoperiri, Thales a adormit.

El a visat ca era intr-un camp verde. In fata lui se afla o intrare intr-un loc necunoscut. El a decis sa

afle unde ducea acest pasaj secret. A facut cativa pasi si a observat ca lumina slaba din departare se

apropia de el. In timp ce mergea, o piatra mare a aparut in fata lui. Pe piatra erau culori diferite:

rosu oranj, galben, verde, albastru si mov. Deodata, o voce s-a auzit si o femeie frumoasa a aparut.

Arata exact ca viziunea lui, cea pe care a avut-o cu o zi inainte.

-Ποιος είναι εκεί; φώναξε η κοπέλα.

- Μη φοβάσαι. Με λένε Θαλή, δεν θα σου κάνω κακό, της είπε.

- Εµένα µε λένε Ίριδα, είµαι αυτή που δηµιουργεί αυτό το θαυµάσιο πράγµα που ονοµάζεται….

- Μη το πεις δεν θέλω…. Εγώ είµαι ένας µεγάλος επιστήµονας και δεν θέλω να µου το πεις επειδή

µόλις σκέφτηκα πως δεν ξέρει κανείς αυτό το πράγµα που δηµιουργείς. Θα το γράψω λοιπόν σαν

καινούριο φαινόµενο. ∆εν σε πειράζει, έτσι;

- Όχι δεν µε πειράζει, αλλά ξέρεις, θέλω µια χάρη. Εδώ εγώ είµαι µόνη µου µε τα ζώα. Κάποτε ένας

κακός µάγος µε φυλάκισε εδώ και µου είπε πω ς µόνο αν µε γνώριζαν πολλοί θα µπορούσα να

ελευθερωθώ και να ζήσω όπως κάθε άνθρωπος στη γη.

- Μη στενοχωριέσαι θα το κανονίσω εγώ µε αυτό που θα κάνω. Θα τα ξαναπούµε στη γη, είπε ο

Θαλής και....

-Who goes there? Shouted the girl.

- Do not be afraid. My name is Thales, I won’t hurt you, he replied.

- My name is Iris, I am the one who creates this beautiful thing called….

- Don’t say it, I don’t want to… I’m a great scientist and I do not wish for you to tell me, as nobody

knows this thing you create. If you don’t mind therefore, I will write it down as a new phenomenon.

-No, I don’t mind at all. You should know though that I wish a favor in exchange. I am here all

alone along with the animals. An evil wizard jailed me here and told me that only if I became

known to a lot of people I would be free again and able to live a normal life.

-Do not worry, I will take care of it. See you again on Earth said Thales and…

-Cine e acolo? A strigat fata.

- Nu te speria. Numele meu e Thales. Nu am sa te ranesc, a raspuns el.

- Numele meu e Iris, Sunt cea care alcatuieste lucrul cunoscut ca...

- N-o spune, Nu vreau sa... Sunt un om de stiinta foarte bune si nu vreau sa-mi spui, pentru ca

nimeni nu stie acest lucru pe care-l creezi. Daca nu te superi asadar, il voi nota ca un fenomen nou.

-Nu, nu ma deranjeaza deloc. Trebuie sa stii ca vreau un favor in schimb. Sunt singura aici,

impreuna cu animalele. Un vrajitor rau m-a captivat aici si mi-a spus ca numai daca voi fi cunoscuta

de multi oameni voi fi lasata libera.

-Nu te ingrijora, am sa ma ocup de asta. Ne vedem din nou pe pamant, a spus Thales si…

Ξαφνικά ξύπνησε. Έπεσε αµέσως µε τα µούτρα στο γράψιµο. Έγραφε, έγραφε και δεν τελείωνε.

Πέρασε αρκετός καιρός από τότε και µια φορά καθώς ανακάτευε τις χηµικές του ουσίες,

δηµιουργήθηκε ένας φακός. Μόλις τον πήρε στα χέρια του, το έβαλε κοντά στο µάτι του και

παρατήρησε πως ό,τι έβλεπε γινόταν µεγαλύτερο.

-Βρήκα το όνοµά του, είπε. Θα το ονοµάσω µεγεθυντικό φακό επειδή µεγεθύνει τα πάντα.

Μετά από λίγα χρόνια ο µεγεθυντικός φακός πουλιόταν παντού.

All of a sudden he woke up. He started writing unceasingly. Time went by and one day, as he was

mixing his chemicals, a lens was created. Thales took the lens in his hand, brought it close to his

eyes and noticed that through it things looked bigger.

-I found its name, said Thales. I will call it magnifying glass since it magnifies everything.

A few years later the magnifying glass was sold everywhere.

Brusc, s-a trezit si a inceput sa scrie neintrerupt. Timpul a trecut si intr-o zi in timp ce amesteca

solutii, a creat o lentila. Thales a luat lentila, a apropiat-o de ochi si a constatat ca prin ea obiectele

se vad mai mari.

-I-am gasit numele, a spus Thales. Am s-o numesc lupa, deoarece mareste tot.

Cativa ani mai tarziu, lupa era vanduta peste tot.

Εκείνες τις ηµέρες είχε έρθει από ταξίδι ο φίλος του Νεύτωνας. Πήγε να δει τι κάνει ο καλός του

φίλος Θαλής. Μόλις έφτασε στο σπίτι του Θαλή τον είδε στενοχωρηµένο και τον ρώτησε γιατί ήταν

σκυθρωπός. Εκείνος του απάντησε, επειδή έβρεχε και δεν είχε τίποτε να κάνει. Ο Νεύτωνας του

πρότεινε να πάνε να δούνε τον διαγωνισµό για το ποιος έχει τα πιο όµορφα µάτια. Ο διαγωνισµός

γινόταν κάθε τρία χρόνια και ο Νεύτωνας πάντα πήγαινε. Μόλις άκουσε την ιδέα του Νεύτωνα ο

Θαλής ενθουσιάστηκε και ήθελε κι εκείνος να πάει για να τον παρακολουθήσει. Εκεί που γινόταν ο

διαγωνισµός έπεσε πάνω σε µια γυναίκα. Ήταν ίδια µε αυτήν που είδε στο όνειρό του. Τα µάτια της

έλαµπαν, τα µαλλιά της το ίδιο και ήταν ψηλή. Ο Θαλής έµεινε για µια στιγµή ακίνητος να

κοιτάζει την οµορφιά της µε ανοικτό το στόµα. Στο τέλος γέλασε και την ρώτησε πώς τη λένε και

αυτή του απάντησε Ίρις.

Νικητής του διαγωνισµού βγήκε η Ίρις. Τα µάτια της ήταν τα πιο όµορφα που είχε δει ο Θαλής. Το

χρώµα τους ήταν έντονο γαλάζιο. Ο Θαλής την αγάπησε. Το απόγευµα, όταν άρχισε να βρέχει

έτρεξαν µαζί να κρυφτούν. Πήγαν κάτω από ένα δέντρο. Τότε της έκανε πρόταση να µείνουν µαζί

κι αυτή δεν άργησε να απαντήσει πως θα το ήθελε πολύ.

At about that time, his friend Newton came to visit Thales. He found his old friend looking sad and

asked the reason. Thales responded that it was raining and so he had nothing to do. Newton

suggested they went to watch the contest for the most beautiful eyes. The contest was held every

three years and Newton always attended it. Thales found a great idea. When he arrived at the

contest he bumped into a woman. Her eyes and hair were glowing and she was tall. Thales stood

still, admiring her beauty. In the end he laughed and asked her name. She responded, “Iris”.

The winner of the contest was Iris. Thales had never seen a more beautiful pair of eyes. Her eyes

were bright blue. Thales fell in love with her. In the evening it started to rain and the two of them

run beneath a tree to hide. It was then that Thales asked her to move in with him and Iris accepted

his offer.

Cam pe atunci Newton si-a vizitat prietenul, Thales. Si-a gasit prietenul trist si l-a intrebat din ce

motiv era asa. Thales a raspuns ca ploua si nu avea ce face. Newton a sugerat ca ar trebui sa mearga

sa vada concursul pentru cei mai frumosi ochi. Acest concurs era tinut o data la trei ani, iar Newton

era acolo mereu. Lui Thales ii placu ideea. Cand a ajuns la concurs, s-a intalnit cu o femie. Ochii si

parul ei straluceau, iar ea era foarte inalta. Thales a ramas nemiscat, admirandu-i frumusetea. La

sfarsit a zambit si i-a cerut numele. Aceasta i-a spus: “Iris”.

Castigatoarea concursului a fost Iris. Thales nu a vazut ochi mai frumosi. Ochii ei erau albastrii.

Thales s-a indragostit de ea. Seara a inceput sa ploua, iar cei doi au fugit sub un copac. Atunci

Thales i-a spus sa se mute cu el, iar aceasta a acceptat.

Αφού πέρασαν πέντε µήνες, πέντε µέρες, πέντε ώρες και πέντε λεπτά έγινε κάτι το ασυνήθιστο. Ο

Θαλής καθώς έκανε πειράµατα στο εργαστήρι του, έριξε κάτω τις χηµικές ουσίες. Τότε αντί να

γίνει κάποια έκρηξη ή να χρειαστεί να φτιάξει τις χηµικές ουσίες όπως γίνεται συνήθως, η πόρτα

τις απορρόφησε και ο Θαλής έµεινε άφωνος. Όταν άνοιξε την πόρτα, αντί να δει την αυλή του

σπιτιού του, αντίκρισε µια µηχανή του χρόνου.

After five months, five days, five hours and five minutes had gone by, something unusual happened.

As he was experimenting in his lab, Thales knocked down his chemical substances. However,

instead of the usual explosion that occurs in such instances, the door absorbed all the substances and

Thales was speechless. When he opened his door, instead of his back yard he saw a time machine.

Dupa ce au trecut cinci luni, cinci zile, cinci ore si cinci minute, ceva neobisnuit s-a intamplat. In

timp ce facea experiente in laborator, Thales a doborat substantele chimice din greseala. Totusi, in

locul exploziei care se petrece in asa situatii, usa a absorbit substantele, iar Thales a ramas fara

vorbe. Cand a deschis usa, in locul curtii, el a vazut o masina a timpului.

Όλοι στην περιοχή του περνούσαν και ξαναπερνούσαν για να δουν το δηµιούργηµά του γιατί δεν

ήταν κάτι όπου έβλεπαν κάθε ηµέρα. Τον Θαλή τον αγαπούσαν όλοι και όχι µόνο τον αγαπούσαν

αλλά τον λάτρευαν, επειδή πάντα σκεφτόταν το καλύτερο για την περιοχή.

Η µηχανή του χρόνου έµοιαζε σαν ασανσέρ. Στο πάνω µέρος είχε µια µεγάλη πράσινη κεραία τόσο

µεγάλη που έφτανε µέχρι τα σύννεφα και δεν µπορούσες να δεις την κορυφή της. Γύρω από την

κεραία υπήρχαν τρεις σειρές κόκκινα λαµπάκια. Το εσωτερικό µέρος της ήταν βαµµένο µπλε και το

πιο παράξενο ήταν που είχε µέσα µια οθόνη και από δίπλα της αριθµούς από το µηδέν µέχρι το

εννιά. Ενθουσιασµένος καθώς ήταν ο Θαλής, φώναξε την Ίριδα να δει τι δηµιούργησε. Η Ίριδα είδε

τη µηχανή του χρόνου και ήθελαν να µπουν και οι δύο µέσα. Όµως, δεν ξέρανε πώς.

Everyone in his area came by again and again and again to see the machine as it was nothing like

they had ever seen before. Thales was loved by everyone because he always cared for his area.

The time machine looked like an elevator. On top of if there was a big green antenna that reached

the clouds and you could not see its ends. Around the antenna there were three sets of red lights.

The interior was blue and the strangest thing was that there was a screen and next to it numbers

from zero to nine. Thales was so excited that he shouted to Iris to come and have a look at what he

had done. They decided to get into the machine but did not know how to use it.

Toata lumea venea sa vada masina timpului. Thales era iubit de toti pentru ca mereu avea grija de

locul lui.

Masina arata ca un lift. Deasupra ei, se afla o antena verde care ajungea la nori, iar capatul ei nu se

putea vedea. In jurul antenei erau trei seturi de lumini rosii. Interiorul era albastru si cel mai ciudat

lucru era ca inauntru se afla un ecran, iar langa el se aflau numerele de la 0 la 9. Thales a fost atat de

incantat incat a strigat-o pe Iris, ca sa vada ce a facut. Au decis sa intre in masina timpului dar nu

stiau cum s-o foloseasca.

Τότε ο Θαλής θυµήθηκε ότι είχε κατηγορήσει κάποιον συνάνθρωπό του ότι του έκλεψε ένα

χειρόγραφό του. Αυτό όµως δεν ήταν αλήθεια. Η Ίριδα, που δεν της άρεσαν οι αδικίες το είδε αυτό

και σκέφτηκε ότι πρέπει να παρέµβει. Είπε την αλήθεια στον Θαλή, που κατάλαβε το λάθος του και

σκέφτηκε να ζητήσει συγνώµη.

Μόλις το σκέφτηκε αυτό, έκλεισε τα µάτια του και όταν τα ξανάνοιξε, βρέθηκαν µαζί µε την Ίριδα

σε ένα µέρος γεµάτο µε καθρέφτες. ∆εν ήξερε τι γινόταν. Η Ίριδα υπέθεσε πως η µηχανή µπορούσε

να λειτουργήσει µόνο για δίκαιους ανθρώπους. Σκέφτηκε ακόµα πως χρησιµοποιούνται αυτοί οι

καθρέφτες για να ανακλούν το φως του ήλιου και το στέλνουν προς τα φωτοβολταϊκά. Εκεί το φως

συγκεντρώνονταν. Βρισκόταν µέσα στη µηχανή του χρόνου και θα ταξίδευαν στο µέλλον!

Ο Θαλής σχηµάτισε έναν τυχαίο αριθµό και µετά από ένα µικρό ήχο έφτασαν στο 2012.

It was then that Thales remembered that he had wrongfully accused a man of stealing one of his

manuscripts. Iris, who disliked injustice, decided it was time to intervene. She told Thales the truth,

who in turn recognized his mistake and apologized.

Once he thought about it Thales closed his eyes and when he reopened them both him and Iris

found themselves in a place full of mirrors. He did not know what was going on. Iris thought that

perhaps the machine only worked for the righteous. She also thought that the mirrors were used to

retract the sun light and send it towards the photovoltaics. This was where the light was gathered.

They were now inside the time machine, travelling to the future! Thales dialed a random number

and after a light sound they were transferred in….2012.

Atunci, Thalles si-a dat seama ca a acuzat pe cineva pe nedrept ca-i furase manuscrisele. Iris, careia

nu-i placeau nedreptatile, a decis sa intervina. Ea i-a spus lui Thales adevarul, iar el in schimb si-a

recunoscut greseala si si-a cerut scuze.

O data ce s-a gandit la asta, Thales si-a inchis ochii si atunci cand i-a deschis iar el si Iris erau intr-o

camera plina cu oglinzi. Nu stia ce se petrece. Iris a crezut ca poate masina merge doar pentru cei

drepti. De asemenea ea credea ca oglinzile capteaza lumina soarelui si o trimit la fotovoltaici. Acolo

este locul unde lumina este adunata. Acum erau in masina timpului, clatorind in viitor.

Thales a tastat un numar aleatoriu, iar dupa un zgomot fad au fost transportati in ….. 2012

Μόλις βγήκαν από τη µηχανή είδαν πολλά πράγµατα που δεν υπήρχαν στη δική τους εποχή. Τότε η

Ίριδα ρώτησε τι ήταν αυτό το σκληρό πράγµα που πατούσαν. Ο Θαλής απάντησε «άσφαλτος και

αυτός χρησιµεύει για να µετακινούνται ευκολότερα οι άνθρωποι και τα αυτοκίνητα».

Αυτό το ήξερε, γιατί στα σχέδια που έκανε για το µέλλον, ήταν µέσα και οι δρόµοι. Πέρασαν από

µπροστά τους δύο άνθρωποι και η Ίριδα ρώτησε τον Θαλή, γιατί έχουν τέτοια παράξενα ρούχα.

Τότε παρατήρησαν πως τα ρούχα που φορούσαν εκείνοι τα φορούσαν όλοι οι άνθρωποι της εποχής

εκείνης.

Μπήκαν σε ένα µαγαζί µέσα, γιατί κάτι που είδε ο Θαλής στη βιτρίνα του τράβηξε την προσοχή.

Αυτό που τράβηξε το βλέµµα του ήταν ένας κρύσταλλος σε µια µαύρη βάση. Ρώτησε τι είναι και

του απάντησαν «πρίσµα». Του έδειξαν και πως δουλεύει. Μετά έψαχνε να δει κάτι που τον

ενδιέφερε, αλλά απ’ ότι κατάλαβε δεν υπήρχε τίποτε άλλο.

Once they came out of the time machine they noticed numerous things that did not exist in their

time. Then Iris asked what was the hard material they walked on. Thales responded “the asphalt,

and it is used to facilitate people and cars to move around”. He knew that because in his future plans

he had foreseen the roads. Two people walked in front of them and Iris asked Thales why they wore

such strange clothes. They realized that everyone around them was wearing the same strange

clothes.

They went into a store and Thales noticed something that caught his attention. It was a crystal on a

black pedestal. He asked what it was and they told him how it worked. He looked around for

something interesting but saw nothing else.

O data ce au iesit din masina timpului, au observat o multime de lucruri care nu existau in timpul lor.

Apoi Iris a intrebat ce este materialul tare pe care merg? Thales a raspuns: “asphalt, si este folosit

pentru a ajuta oamenii si masinile sa circule”. Stia asta deoarece in planurile sale, el prevazuse

drumurile. Doi oameni mergeau in fata lor, iar Iris a intrebat de ce sunt asa de ciudate hainele. Au

realizat ca toti din jurul lor purtau aceleasi haine ciudate.

Au mers intr-un magazin, iar Thales a descoperit ceva ce i-a atras atentia. Era un cristal pe un

piedestal negru. El a intrebat ce este, iar ei i-au explicat cum functioneaza. S-a uitat in jur de altceva

interesant, dar nu a mai gasit nimic.

Σε λίγη ώρα επέστρεψαν στο µέρος όπου έµεναν. Όµως όσο περνούσε ο καιρός επισκέπτονταν κι

άλλα µέρη και µάθαιναν για διαφόρους πολιτισµούς και τα πράγµατα που άλλαζαν στο µέλλον. Το

πιο αγαπηµένο κεφάλαιο της Φυσικής για τον Θαλή και την Ίριδα ήταν η Οπτική. Τους άρεσαν τα

πειράµατα µε το πρίσµα και τα χρώµατα του φάσµατος. Έγιναν καθηγητές, ο Θαλής της Φυσικής

και η Ίριδα, που αγαπούσε πιο πολύ τα πειράµατα, έγινε καθηγήτρια Χηµείας.

After a while they returned back to where they lived. However, as time went by they also visited

other places and discovered different civilizations and things that altered in future. Their favourite

physics chapter for both Thales and Iris was Optics. They liked the experiment with the prism and

the colours of the spectrum. Thales became a teacher of physics and Iris, who loved experiments,

became a teacher of chemistry.

Dupa ceva timp, s-au intors unde locuiau. Totusi, au mai vizitat si alte locuri si au descoperit

diferite civilizatii si lucruri ce s-au schimbat in viitor. Capitolul preferat de fizica al amandurora era

Optica. Le placea sa experimenteze cu prisma si cu spectrul de culori. Thales a devenit un profesor

de fizica, iar Iris, careia ii placeau experimentele, o profesoara de chimie.

Σε µια από τις επισκέψεις τους στο 2012 σκέφτηκαν κάτι απίθανο. Πρώτη φορά είχαν λίγο άγχος,

γιατί θα πήγαιναν και θα µίλαγαν στα παιδιά της ΣΤ τάξης του ∆ηµοτικού Σχολείου ∆ηµητριτσίου

για τα έξι χρώµατα της Ίριδας. Για να κάνουν το φαινόµενο πιο όµορφο θα χρησιµοποιούσαν και

την Ίριδα κι έτσι θα σχηµατιζόταν περισσότερα από δύο ουράνια τόξα. Το σχέδιο του Θαλή πέτυχε

και στη συζήτηση που έκανε µε τα παιδιά έµαθε ότι έχουν ξεκινήσει µια συνεργασία µε ένα

σχολείο της Ρουµανίας.

Ήταν γι’ αυτόν µια τέλεια ευκαιρία….

In one of their time travels to 2012 they thought of something incredible. They were both nervous

because they were about to talk to the students of the 6th

class of the Dimitritsi Primary School

about the colours of Iris. In order to render the phenomenon more beautiful, they were going to use

Iris as well in order to form more than two rainbows. Thales plan worked and during his discussion

with the students he found out that that they had started a project with a school in Romania.

This proved an excellent opportunity….

Intr-una din calatoriile lor in 2012 s-au gandit la ceva incredibil. Amandoi aveau emotii pentru ca

urma sa vorbeasca elevilor clasei a6a din scoala primara Dimitritsi despre culorile din Iris. Pentru a

face fenomenul mai frumos au folosit-o pe Iris pentru a obtine mai mult de doua curcubee. Planul

lui Thales a reusit si in timpul conversatiei cu elevii a aflat ca acestia au pornit un proiect cu elevii

din Romania.

Aceasta s-a dovedit a fi o oportunitate excelenta...
