The plant however with its fluidised bed technology is suited to burning a range of waste products within controlled parameters to meet EPA environmental requirements. When operating with mine waste the addition of limestone into the CFB substantially reduces Sox levels and due to the operating temperatures being below 900 ºC Nox emissions are also eliminated. The boiler Auxiliary plant consists of BDT Pumps, coal feeders, ID and FD fans, Sootblowers, Boiler water Circulating pumps, Auxiliary cooling water pumps and limestone and inert material storage and transfer systems. Balance of plant consists of Process and Instrument air compressors, Coal conveying system, Water treatment plant, Ash collection, distribution and disposal system and River water intake and discharge systems.
