Oxazole derivativesR 0220 O-Protected 3-Hydroxy-oxazolidin-2,4-diones: Novel Precursors in the Synthesis
of α-Hydroxyhydroxamic Acids. — Title compounds of type (IV) are prepared in a one-pot procedure from cyanohydrins, CDI and the appropriate hydroxylamines. They are used as novel precursors for the synthesis of α-hydroxyhydroxamic acids. Decar-boxylation of (IV) is accomplished under mild conditions in the presence of different bases. Subsequent deprotection results in formation of final α-hydroxyhydroxamicacids. Deprotection of (Vc) leads to isolation of (VII). — (KURZ*, T.; WIDYAN, K.; Org. Biomol.
