High-Purity Metallic Fluorides
Over 26 metallic fluorides of extra high purity are now available. These fluorides are easily converted to deposition metals of purities otherwise not obtainable. These materials are guaranteed to conform to stated quality specifications. United Mineral & Chemical Corp., 129 Hudson St., New York, Ν. Υ. 10013. 212-966-4330 501
TLC Spray Reagents
Four reagents, three of which have not been offered before, are available for thin-layer chromatography visualization. They are ninhydrin, potassium iodoplatinate, bismuth subnitrate, and silver acetate. Ninhydrin is used with such items as amino acids, peptides, and proteins; iodoplatinate detects bio-tin, analgesics, narcotics, some alkaloids, amino acids, peptides, amines, and bases. Bismuth subnitrate is used for the visualization of cholin phosphatides, amines, and alkaloids, and silver acetate detects barbiturates. A 12-page catalog describes these reagents and equipment to be used with them. Quantum Industries, 341 Kaplan Dr., Fairfield, N . J . 07006. 201-227-4880 502
Laboratory Lubricants
Two new general-purpose laboratory lubricants are available to end problems stemming from jammed stopcocks and dismantling of apparatus with ground glass joints. The new greases are resistant to a wide range of organic solvents and are said not to leak out of joints. In the lubrication of buret taps, resistance has been shown to acid and alkali solutions. One of the greases, AP 100, is a high vacuum grease for use down to 5 X 10-" torr at 15°C, with a softening point of 30°C. The other, AP 101, is a general-purpose grease comparable in price to other laboratory greases. It is designed for moderate vacuum use down to 10-1 torr and has a softening point of 185°C. Bulletin ST J describes these products. James G. Biddle Co., Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 19462. 215-646-9200 503
Triglyceride and Lipid Determinations
Kits are available for the determination of triglycerides by a fluorometric method and for the determination of total lipids by a colorimetric method. Both kits contain all reagents and standards needed for about 40 determinations. Alpha Associates, 4536 New-portsville Rd., Levittown, Pa. 19056

vmm ELECTRON!AGNETICALLY CONTROLLED DILUTING MACHINE safely handles acids, bases, solvents without error, waste, contamination or effort...every time!
Pushbutton-controlled DILUTROL does away forever with cross-contamination and waste of precious sample! Provides precise pickup of adjustable predetermined amount of sample with repeatable accuracy of ± 0 . 3 % , continuous diluent delivery with an accuracy ± 0 . 5 % . Permits dilution ratio up to 1,000:1. Rinsing action of diluent cleans tip for next cycle! Removable dispensing head rotates through 120 degrees, makes possible operation at distances up to 4 feet. The exclusive electromagnetic check valve assures positive repeatability and provides exclusive airlock between sample and diluent; fluids touch only Teflon and glass. Operates on 115 volts AC. Available either with 1.0 ML sample and 10 ML diluent max. capacity or with 0.5 ML sample and 10 ML diluent capacity.
DILUTROL from $383.25
